A Must-Visit for Coffee & Ethiopian Flavor Lovers!
We had an amazing experience at Yigebe Coffee & Food in Portland. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food—absolutely unforgettable. We ordered the veggie combo, beef tibs, and sambussa pastries, and every bite was bursting with authentic Ethiopian flavor. The sambussa were perfectly crisp and spiced, the tibs were tender and savory, and the veggie combo was vibrant and satisfying.
Their signature Yigebe Coffee is a standout—rich, aromatic, and clearly crafted with pride. It’s more than just a drink; it’s a cultural experience.
The space itself is small but thoughtfully designed, with two floors—a cozy ground level and an intimate upstairs area. There’s also outdoor seating, which adds a relaxed, open-air vibe perfect for sunny Portland days.

You can tell it’s about to pop off and It is so cute in here! I love it. Would totally do homework here and everything too! Everyone who works there is so nice and lovely. I really had so much fun talking to them all and it’s locally owned and brand new (: I’m so happy we stopped in randomly. Plus it’s a great couple of sisters running it and it’s just such a good and cute vibe! Even though I live pretty far away, I would make the drive to come here 100% Can’t wait...

The downstairs is similar in that it has a tiny speaker you can barely hear over the drink refrigerator hum. The interior is nice with some plants and green paint and bright warm lights. The coffee was decent and came in a super cute glass, but it was a cappuccino, not a latte- with more foam and less milk, which left the milk/coffee ratio off-balance and more bitter. While I only gave three stars, they are so close. It just needs more...
