I initially refrained from leaving a descriptive review due to concerns about receiving a snarky response from the business owner. However, my apprehensions proved valid when their reply stated, "A review with no substance means nothing to anyone." This snarky behavior is consistent with their replies to other customer reviews, regardless of their nature. It reflects poorly on their customer service.
I have visited this store on two occasions because my husband was enthusiastic about a specific product they carry. The first visit was satisfactory, but the second time was quite disappointing. Upon entering, it seemed as if no staff were present on the floor. Despite our prior familiarity with the layout, we eventually noticed two individuals behind their tall cash wrap counter. There was no greeting upon our arrival, only a curt inquiry of whether they could assist us. Unfortunately, the desired item was unavailable, and when my husband inquired about its availability, we received a very stern response indicating it would likely be out of stock for the remainder of the year. We ended up buying a similar product and remained polite and positive throughout our visit, however, was consistently met with sternness. Our overall experience strongly discouraged us from considering a return in the future. While we generally prefer supporting local businesses over big box retailers, we are unwilling to tolerate this behavior.
One can simply observe their responses to their other customer reviews to understand the issue at hand. I even anticipate receiving a snarky response to this review, as they have already demonstrated an inclination towards such behavior beforehand. It’s evident online and will only intensify when shopping in-person.
I generally refrain from writing negative reviews and choose to keep my concerns to myself, considering the potential harm they can cause to a local business. Nonetheless, it is crucial for the business owners to address this issue. I extend my best wishes to them in...
Read moreThe first and LAST time I will ever go to Portland BBQ shop. I traveled across town in rush hour traffic in 80+ degree muggy heat to get two horizontal RV, 5 gallon tanks re-certified and filled up. The lady told me she would have to see if they can get it done but yet the store still had ALMOST AN HOUR left open. The shop kid came back and told her no, but I could leave my tanks over night. I told the lady how far I had traveled and REALLY needed to have this service done but she didn't seem to care. There is NO WAY I am gonna leave almost $400 worth of horizontal RV tanks at some shop across town and hope they are still there tomorrow, plus drive all the way back! So, I had to drive more than 40 blocks farther to get my tanks serviced at the competitors shop and it only took them less than 15 minutes to finish the job! Ultimately it was worth the drive because I now have a new BBQ shop that is willing to go the extra mile, unlike Portland BBQ Shop. Very poor...
Read moreI called ahead to check their inventory on a specific grill. They told me that they had one in stock and that they'd put my name on it and hold it for me so I could come by later and pick it up. I drove 40 minutes to get there (from North to SE) and paid while they went to go get it. 20 minutes later, they realize that their inventory is wrong and they don't have it. Because I had already paid, then I had to wait around to deal with the refund.
I wasted almost two hours of my day with this place and it'll be the last time I ever go there. If you call in to have them check inventory, I recommend you ask them to visually verify it instead of trusting...
