Puddletown Bagels - MLK Street Food (NE MLK Jr. BLVD & Beech St.) — Restaurant in Portland

I never write reviews but I want the owner to address this. I have been experiencing some health issues so I was in a mobility scooter when I rolled up to the cart around 2:15 this past monday. I saw one for the employees that I'd seen before taking a smoke break out front, so I sat in my chair right in front of the cart for like 8 minutes, waiting patiently for him to finish up. when I realized it might be a bit longer (I didn't want him to feel super rushed, I understand the importance of breaks!) I went over to the Indian food cart to grab some of their mexican bottled cokes to have with my sandwich. I turn around after my interaction with the other cart (a minute and a half TOPS) and the employee had disappeared. I thought he had gone into the cart so I waited outside another 5 minutes until a fellow cart worker came and told me y'all started closing at 2:30. I looked down at my watch and it was 2:28 when he was telling me this. your employee me sitting there in my mobility chair for that long and just left me. I didn't see any posted changes to hours. I was absolutely floored. This same employee was quite rude to me in a previous interaction, even before I was in a mobility chair. I understand closing early but to leave me to sit there in the heat for that long, it felt...

HORRIBLE.

We were quoted 10-15 minutes for 3 bagels, which was reasonable for 10 am on a Sunday. However after 30 minutes and watching multiple people who ordered after us get their food, we went up to check and the person behind the counter acted annoyed that we even asked.

One of the bagels was a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The bagel itself looked like 2 tops were put together and looked much older compared to the other bagels we also ordered. There was almost NO cream cheese on it. It looked like they took a knife, wiped remnants of cream cheese on it, and called it good. We had already driven a few minutes up the road but brought it back because we spent $5 on this bagel and what we got was insulting. I tried to explain to the girl at the counter why my bagel wasn't up to par compared to the other two but was met with so much attitude. I could hear her and two other employees LOUDLY talking about me while they begrudgingly replaced it. When I unwrapped the new bagel, it was SMOTHERED in runny cream cheese. Like you could barely tell it was a bagel because it was so drenched. It was completely inedible and a waste of money.

This is the first place I found that has a genuine lox bagel sandwich. They have a great deal on a day old dozen, you can buy individual cream cheese flavors in different sizes. They have tons of different bagels and cream cheeses. Lots of different sandwhich options too, which you can customize as well or build your own. They also have bagel dogs. They have lots of drinks. Many coffee options, including two seasonal eggnog coffees. They have hot and iced tea and hot chocolate. They also have customizable Italian and Italian cream sodas with many flavors, which can be mixed, and served with whipped cream on top if you want. They also have apple, orange, cranberry, and mango juice as well as multiple sodas, monster energy drinks, sweet tea, and bottled water. They have some desserts as well. 10/10 recommend.
