As a former employee of this spa, I want to take time to publicly appreciate how wonderful this establishment is!

The practitioners and managers are all excellent; they are focused on your self care & wellness.

The owners of the Portland branch Hand & Stone really go above and beyond, not only for their clientele, but also for their employees. They are truly dedicated local business owners. They attend to each location with care and thoughtfulness and run a very organized business.

As for the management of the N. Williams spa, they are also very thoughtful, understanding and well organized. They work diligently to accommodate a healthy & relaxing environment for both employees and clientele.

I feel that the Portland branch of Hand & Stone really appreciates their clients. They show this appreciation by offering rotating monthly promotions on all the different services. These promotions offer the community opportunities to try different services while having a fabulous spa experience.

The Portland Hand & Stone spas offer many new cutting edge facial services & make sure to properly train all of their service providers from the ground up in order to ensure success for all.

I recently transferred to a different Hand & Stone in another state and do not feel as satisfied with their organization, like the way I did at the Portland location.

It is with a heavy heart that after maybe three years of being a member, I’ve had to cancel my membership at Hand and Stone.

Turnover at this location is incredibly high. All receptionists have been great, but it’s hard to build a relationship with staff who change every few months. It’s even harder when massage therapists move! I’ve had the privilege of having so many great massage therapist at this location, Unfortunately all but one have left since my time as a customer at this location.

Unfortunately, this location is too far for me, in addition to a pretty lackluster massage I received last week from my typical therapist. I received no hot towel, no water afterwards, and my massage therapist loudly burped during the massage itself. I totally get that people can have an off day, but I was teetering between canceling and sticking it out another month. At this point, it was time for me to find somewhere else to go.

My massage was amazing. My masseuse was very kind, professional and talented. Unfortunately I came in with a gift card for $60 that was 2 years old but no expiration date so I thought it was still valid. The front desk ladies tried their best to find it in their system but it came up with having a balance of only $15. Impossible since I’d never been in to use it. 15 minutes later they could only apply the $15. The company could have made it right by honoring the balance written on the gift card. I mentioned when I walked in it was my very first massage. But because of this experience at the end, I will be taking my business elsewhere. They ruined the experience. The company appears cheap, though their services are not. I received an email stating “free facial” in the subject line but upon further reading it’s a special introductory fee of $69.99. I was ready for the next phase of my life where I spend money regularly on such services. I guess I’ll have to choose another company.
