Rue Cler I have been anxiously awaiting for Rue Cler to open since I read about them in Eater in March and today I had the opportunity to pop in and check them out. Their interior is exquisite and the outdoor seating is charming and inviting. The brunch menu looks fantastic and I inquired about the corn beef hash and the chef /owner explained that it was a low and slow process and I am salivating just thinking about devouring it! They are opening at a pace that is comfortable for them and their staff. Once they are all up to speed they will be open more days and hours. They will eventually have a marketplace where one can grab things to go and meals that you can pop in the oven to warm up. The bar and finely curated wine list is impressive! Eater PDX it a fantastic write up in March about when the owner, Cindy Hymer first visited the Rue Cler in Paris. Our newest sweet spot in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood is named for the famed Parisian market Street. Rue Cler will house a bar, bakery, restaurant and grocery with fresh squeezed juices and salmon Benedict, etc! We enjoyed our brunch immensely! We ordered bloody Mary’s - they are served with Tajin rimmed glasses. Yummy! We had a Gruyère caramelized onion biscuit while we waited for our food and sipped on our Bloody Mary’s. That biscuit is one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! The corn beef hash was better than I imagined! It’s absolutely divine! We also had Chili de Alhambra - deliciousness! Welcome to the neighborhood! I look forward to frequenting Rue Cler! Please be patient with them as they work out the kinks and fine-tune the kitchen timing and alignment with ordering and volume of customers. I have no doubt they will become a well oiled machine on no time! Meilleurs vœux and bon appétit!

This place was a huge disappointment for Valentine's day. I ordered the Valentine's dinner experience, plus the "fruits de mar" and the "sac de gaterie". Wel, the fruits de mar literally just was forgotten. When I asked about it, they removed it from the bill since it was the same cost as the Cocktail and juice I ordered. Never received the sac de gaterie, and left very disappointed. The service was very understaffed. The food that we did receive was good, but 3 people running the front of house and bar for a special occasion is a joke. Terrible management. I see this as a prime example of what is wrong with the dining experience today. These restaurants throw away money by understaffing. I would have spent more money and would have come back if it was a proper service. The whole time I couldn't help thinking "Gordon Ramsay could fix the hell out of this place". Probably...

Worst dining experience ever. They forgot to put my order in and made us wait for over an hour. My salmon was overcooked, and so was my partner's medium-rare burger, which was well done. Waiters acted like the whole thing was a joke. I will never come back.

Edit: Since I cannot reply to the owner's reply. The place was empty when I dined here. Literally only our party and a party of 3 near us. We did not indeed stay for dessert as I was late to the party I was hosting. So please, do not make up lies to make your restaurant look better. And I did not tip at all because of the horrible service. And lastly, we were only drinking water because we are underage. Had you bought us drinks, it would've been a huge issue for your restaurants. Please stop acting like you did everything right. You guys are a joke. Also, very classy of you all to reply a month and...
