Tiny Moreso is a small, cute, vegan bakery with an unassuming facade. The inside isn't much to speak of and the outside is only a few metal chairs, tables, and umbrellas. That's not important though. The true, Wonka level magic happens in back. Let me say this:
You have not had vegan cheesecake this good.
Each one of their flavors was thoughtfully, painstakingly, gruellingly tested. Each recipe made, tweaked, remade, and adjusted again and again until the ideal flavor is reached. It's clear the owner loves their craft and wants to make genuinely good food. They approach their desserts with the care of a parent and the inspiration of a mad scientist.
For non-vegans, keep in mind that "cheesecake" is the best approximation of what to call this. Don't expect the smooshy curd of a New York style cheesecake. This is a desert unto itself and we don't yet have a word for it. If we're lucky, Moreso will catch on and we'll all be having a slice of moreso for birthdays, weddings, and special nights in.
They have a robust web portal that you can order any of their flavors from, and they make a range of other snacks and treats. You can find their cakes hidden all over town under the name Rawdacious. I'm convinced the only reason this bakery isn't sold out daily is because no one knows about it. They deserve a line out the door and down the block. Portland has another jewel in its crown of restaurants and patisseries.
Plus, the proprietor wears a fire engine red jacket. How...
Read moreWe visited Tiny Moreso yesterday with my 4-year-old son, and Kyle made us one of the best bowls I've ever eaten. The portion was so generous that I took half home and had it for lunch the next day, and it still tasted incredibly fresh (which almost never happens with leftover bowls!).
Walking in, we were greeted by Kyle with the Smile, who was sweet, approachable, and so patient with us as we took our time deciding on which dessert to have, which took a minute because the pastry case is dangerously tempting.
We've been fans of Tiny Moreso since 2021, when we'd get their fresh juices served in glass jars that we could return on our next visit. Yesterday we also tried a lemon cookie with icing that was absolutely amazing, the perfect sweet finish.
What makes this place truly special is that it's 100% vegan and gluten-free, yet there's zero compromise on flavor. I know one reviewer mentioned small portions, but I found mine incredibly satisfying, and the care that goes into every dish more than justifies the cost. You're supporting a woman-owned local business that prioritizes sustainable practices and creates a genuine bright spot in the community.

Read moreAs a vegan and lover of mac and cheese, I can confidently say that Tiny Moreso has THE BEST vegan mac and cheese. How do I know this? Because I’ve tried every other option. Vegan restaurants that claim to have the best mac and cheese? Tried it. Make at home recipes? Tried it. Boxed options from the grocery store? Tried it. I’ve probably spent hundreds of dollars looking for the unicorn of vegan mac and cheese, and had not been convinced of its existence until I tried Tiny Moreso’s broccoli Mac. You can’t tell by looking at it or tasting it, but it’s also gluten free and very reasonably priced. It comes as a mega portion that will probably provide at least two meals. If you don’t like broccoli, try the Moreso mac that comes with bbq flavored soy curls instead. Either way, you’re in for a treat. You can celebrate this find with one of over 20 amazing flavors of vegan cheesecake slices or one of their other amazing desserts. I’m partial to their giant samoas. And… it’s all vegan and gluten free! Just don’t buy ALL...
