tbh I had given up on finding good east coast style Italian food - and then there was Vincenzo’s 💓💓💓 be still my heart. The way we stumbled upon Vincenzo’s after a long walk one day in our new neighborhood seemed serendipitous. Since finding this little pizzaria we’ve had our dinners there atleast once a week. We aim to try everything on the menu eventually.
So far we’ve had slices and pies - all good. Remarkably not very greasy - and the crust is the best I’ve had in Portland(maybe ever??) in both the thin and Sicilian slices.
I’ve tried all three salads - great. The Caesar is probably my favorite. A classic. Perfect portions
The calzone !! So massive. Enough for two people. And again remarkably not greasy even with a sausage and pepperoni one.
My fiancé has had the meatball sandwich recently and I think he about cried. This sandwich single handedly restored his faith in Portland Italian food.
I do and don’t want to tell people about Vincenzo’s. I want them to be as big as some of these other Portland staple restaurants, but I also want them to stay as my little secret neighborhood...
Read moreWhat a great little pizza shop in a not so familiar part of town for me. Made the drive all the way from Vancouver, WA to try this place out and let just say I'd make it over and over again. The staff was very kind and engaging and made us feel very welcome. Explained what they were and were not offering for the night and Answered all of our questions. The food is on a whole new level. Let me Start out with my favorite food item we tried, the calzone. The dough is soft yet still had the desired texture I was looking for, but what really made this a stand-out dish was the ricotta cheese baked in. Never had anything like it and was immediately impressed. The meatballs for me came In second place, served in an almost French onion soup broth 🤌 and the last of the 3 items we tried was the Sicilian pizza. This is just a personal preference, I don't typically like thick crust, so I should have went with the more traditional choice. But still a stand-out pizza! Must try and will certainly...
Read moreThis is the real Sicilian deal!!! Was absolutely the thickest crust pizza I have ever eaten!!! We got the build your own pizza, the cheesy breadsticks and the Caesar salad. The breadsticks were so big!!! It was like a pizza without sauce and toppings!! You really get a bang for your buck! We barely got through 1/4 of everything- which meant we had enough leftovers for 2 more meals each! The cheese stretched for daaays!!! Sauce is great, crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and thick and soft on the top! * Note that this style of pizza takes a little longer to bake because the crust is so thick! So worth the wait! My partner loves cannolis (me not so much) but he said that the cannoli was also delicious. No pic because we couldn’t eat dessert at the restaurant because we were so full! They also have calzones which I’m excited to go back and try! Super cute atmosphere with a garage door that would be amazing in the summer! Can’t...
