As soon as I walked into this restaurant with my friend we were met with attitude by the hostess/wait staff but we opted to stay and give it a shot. Our actual server was actually really sweet. Wish I got his name. Placed our food order. I ordered a steak cooked medium and my friend the salmon sliders with some sides. My steak came out about 10 min before her food. It was shockingly small for the price and When I cut into it, it was cooked well done and very chewy. When the server finally came with her food I sent it back. Waited 30 more min for my second steak and once again was over cooked. At this point I was ready to just not eat or settle for an appetizer but server said the head chef would cook the steak themselves and offered a 15% discount for the trouble so I agreed. Well 30 more minutes passed and my third steak was completely raw. Like black& blue in the middle raw. Sent it back and cancelled the steak. Ordered crab dip instead. 30 more min Once again shockingly small portion and the chips were under cooked although I did appreciate that they were freshly fried. At this point I was so hungry I just took it as is. Thankfully it tasted great! When the time came to pay my bill…. The manager had removed the 15% discount because I didn’t eat her raw steak and canceled that order. Gave a bit of push back considering I had literally waited 2hrs to eat and it wasn’t even what I originally wanted and did get my discount. I worked in food service for years and personally would have been comping a drink and a massive discount on the food if my customer had the experience I had. I will say all the food was seasoned well and with the exception of my steak was cooked well and delicious. Perhaps if can’t cook a steak to temp should just take it off the menu. And perhaps taking more accountability when making multiple mistakes on someone’s order. Messing up 3x is insane. Between the long waits, rude staff up front, and amount of mistakes without accountability, I definitely will not be returning. Very unfortunate as I really...
Read moreFirst time visiting.. we were told this place had just opened and a little pricey but a good date night. We waited for the hoopla to die down and went on a rainy evening. It was packed. The music was loud and the crowd was what appeared to be early 20s to mid 30s... the music made sense for the crowd. Once we stepped in and waited a few seconds and male server greeted us. "Yall want a table?" We said nah we'll just sit at the bar... befote checking that there were seats he turned and walked away so fast!! There weren't 2 seats together initially but a patron moved down one so we could sit because there was left over food in yhe other spot. The bar had not been wiped down and when asked the bartender (not sure of her name but she was Caucasian with brown hair and long decorated nails) to wipe it off she seemed very annoyed. This was her demeanor the rest of our time there. A nice older African American lady jumped in and was very accommodating. Im short and she noticed me struggling to get in the chair lol "Let me help you".. "can I get you.." I appreciated her service! The restaurant is decorated beautifully the ambiance would be better for me if the music were lower and more of an r&b vibe but it was a Saturday night. The food took a very long time to come out.. I order the buffalo chicken wrap and him the crab spinach dip. He ordered 10mins before me and my food came out before his. The fried were a bit cold but the wrap was decent. The star of the show was the dip however I didnt know it was supposed to have spinach in it lol it was very crab forward but the flavor was really good with some spice. The drinks were decent as well.im sure we'd go back again.. maybe...
Read moreLast night at Bar9 was everything and more! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were out of this world. The food? Insane. I had the catfish, mac n cheese, and collard greens — it tasted like it came straight out of Big Momma’s kitchen. Real comfort food, cooked to perfection.
The drinks were strong and delicious definitely made with love. I’ve seen some people complain about prices, but honestly, you get what you pay for, and everything was worth every single dollar.
Our waiter was the absolute sweetest, super attentive and made us feel right at home. The DJ was on point all night it was 80s and 90s night and they did not miss! The music had us dancing for hours. What started as a quick bite turned into a whole night out. Me and my 6 girlfriends had the best time not one complaint from anyone.
And here’s the cherry on top: the owner literally came out and bought everyone shots. Like, how often do you see that these days?! It really showed how much they care about creating a fun, welcoming experience for their guests.
Also, can we talk about how clean and cute the bathrooms are? Decorated like you’re in someone’s house —...
