I come in almost every day for the baby bee... After tax it was $4.88... after the new menu and price creep... Now the baby bee is $5.15 after-tax. It is no longer a baby bee surpassing the five-dollar range too bad...
I don't think breakfast sandwiches should exceed $5 🤷🏻♂️ however there's an Amazing variety here and things to come with the drive thru that's not open yet! I like the range of food options, a lot of new alternative seemingly healthier choices. It's too bad they are not 24 hours but it makes sense since there's an Irving just down the street. I've had a bad experience with buying coffee here. Multiple times the coffees been sitting for too long and has a burnt taste specially the Peruvian dark roast. It's either unavailable or today I attempted to try it as it was half full between 8 and 9 p.m. when they close at 11:00 and it was burnt. It's important to know that people work all different schedules and often even though it's late when most people don't consume coffee many people do... a place to get late night coffee is essential. I work until 3:00 a.m. or later as a delivery driver. There are people that travel through the night and work third shift. I have tried earlier times from 3 to 4 . 5 to 6 one time I caught it When it is fresh and I did enjoy it! I like best of all the coffee choices and it seems to be the one that sells the fastest or I just always come in at the wrong time 😅 I think if they kept their coffees changed out on a time schedule like other places they would do much better. Since there is so much going on in this store you can imagine how that reflects responsibility on the employees and they seem to be doing very well from the front counter and back where the food and coffee is prepared. seems like the baristas are doing a great job and all the cooks have quite the variety with the vast menu to pump out at a gas station. I really enjoyed the Plymouth common man it's nice to have something remotely close!
Update: Just came in with a friend at 9:40pm for coffee. He likes getting coffee here. I always get the baby bee to start my day... unfortunately all the chairs are up and there's no coffee 😞 just decaf available. Closed vibes hours early no coffee . I try to bring business here and get let down. You guys could really benefit from a bean to cup coffee machine like at the rusty lantern. And the fact they have coffee by design from Portland and they're bean to cup Brewers makes me travel the extra distance to the Rusty lantern. there are all sorts of gas stations that have their own great deals on coffee. Maybe their own special cups to get the discount keeping cups of coffee to a dollar. So now it just comes down to quality with a variety. Or maybe for some people the location is more convenient. So off to the Rusty lantern we go! When the rusty lantern opened they had a great deal on their to-go mugs for only $5 it was a smart move! I really want one from the common man but nothing so far has justified the high price point over $20 to maybe even just under $30 I can't remember but it's enough to be like wow crazy! compared to getting one for $5 at a new opening for the rusty lantern gas station and currently running at 12.99 outside of the grand opening prices. And with most people already having their own favorite travel mug it's nice going to places that just already offer a refill price using your own mug. So there's a lot of competition where there needs to be enough reason to justify investing that much money. I was thinking about getting one for my friend as a gift because I know he's not so much a picky coffee enthusiast like myself. How can I make that investment when we're going there for coffee and it's not even available 🤷🏻♂️ my friend who came in with me tonight just works a lot of hours not even 3rd shift he needs it just so he can make it home. Honestly he needs espresso . Even with the coffee I'm following him home to make sure he gets home safely. ☺️
You guys are doing a great job here at the store my intention is only to help local...
Read moreEdit:(5/17) Been attempting to come here several times but the customer service has plummeted since my first review. Very abrasive, even the same server I had before is just downright miserable. Sad. Oh and you can't apparently get the menu they display at the drive thru; only partial items. Disappointed. I cannot stress enough how fantastic this combination gas station & convenience store is. My initial walk in was short and sweet, but overwhelming. Definitely recommend going in with an idea of what you want if you're looking for more than just beer lotto and a soda. They have an overly extensive menu that offers both hot and cold items such and sandwiches, pizza(also by the slice!), subs, and also hot and cold drinks like flavored iced green teas and lattes! Theres also full service coffee and some side foods as well. Prices are extremely reasonable for the area and it being a *convenience gas station " type store. The staff are amazing, helpful, patient and kind. The woman who helped us was just perfect; she did us a latte art with my face on it! I say the resemblance is uncanny. I really wish we got our servers name to have here. The other ladies behind her were amazing and attentive as well, tackling our order with ease(we're transplants lol) and had a hard time finalizing our order with so many choices! Our server was just perfect. 100/10 recommend!!! We got two of the Rachel plus two side fries, side cole slaw(SLAMMIN), a cider donut whoopie pie, salted caramel square, peach iced green tea, and a karamel krave latte with...
Read moreI haven’t logged in for a couple years. “Retired” I thought. But something brought me back and back not in a good way… I grew up with the Common Man in Merrimack NH and had good memories of good food and good times. So I thought to myself “Wow” when I heard they were opening a new spot in my new hometown of Portsmouth. Eagerly I ordered my first meal and felt betrayed… thinking to myself “this gotta be a mistake”. I gave myself a few weeks to digest this feeling. I finally got myself the courage to try this again. To my surprise, I was serviced with a mediocre meal at absolute best. This has saddened me, as food around here has gone downhill since Covid came around and I can throw a rock at another restaurant nearby that serves the same meal at less cost and tastes even better. I’ve seen my favorite restaurants fall and this just adds to the list. Goodnight sweet Common Man. May you...
