Summary: food is amazing!!! If you’ve not been, you need to visit this gem of Pottstown!! Now the details…. If you’re like me, you’re used to being disappointed by seafood boils. So I was amazed how great the crab and shrimp boil was at Food for the Soul! It wasn’t hot spicy but tasty spicy!!! Even the meat shelled out from the crab was delicious as were the shrimp, potatoes and corn!! Also, a huge amount of food, even for me, a 6’1” guy!! I’m eating the second half tonight. The salmon and shrimp egg roll is worth a trip all by itself!!! Really great!! The fish sandwich was very good but we added tarter sauce at home. Lastly, we were so full we had to eat later but the banana pudding and sweet potatoes should be illegal because I’m now addicted to both and the pineapple upside down cake was very good. If you’re not a seafood fan, try the wings. Given how great everything else is, I’m sure they amazing too. I’m going to try at my next...

The food is amazing!
I plan to go back for more!
I had the daily special; fried fish plus 1 side. I also grabbed a slice of pineapple upside-down cake!

I've never had such tender, deep-fried fish!! My grams cooked good fish, but this was a whole new experience.
I highly recommend grabbing a bite to eat here! Local folks. Family owned and operated. Take out/delivery only ( no...
Read moreI am finally finishing the slice of pineapple upside down cake given to me free as a first time customer. I’ve been saving it and it was worth the wait. Delicious! I love to bake and this cake, along with the cornbread, rivals my own.
As many have noted, the portions are generous. There was enough fried fish in my order for at least two meals! The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Shopping locally is not only great for the community, but a way to see old faces again. One of my former students took my order. It was wonderful to see her and her family doing well.
I had been considered using Food For The Soul for a catering events, but friends and family stepped up and it will be potluck. I would definitely recommend a visit to this family establishment. The food is good, price is right, and the you will be supporting a...
