The Pourhouse — Restaurant in Pottstown

In the process of moving to PA from the southwest, stopped by for a drink. Walking in, there are maybe 5 people in total including the bartender, and one patron and the bartender are shouting as loud as they can at a football game. Don’t get me wrong, I get enthusiasm and pride in gaming, but this was overkill. There is a strong diesel smell and engine noise, no one seems to care. Have my drinks, the bartender was nice enough, she just did not have any real interest in patrons, as she was heavily focused on the game. Time goes by, an alarm goes off. Everyone is surprised, it’s not a common alarm. I say “probably carbon monoxide with this diesel smell.” Yep, that’s what it was, all of us could have easily gotten carbon monoxide poisoning. No doors were opened, nor any other real effort to care for people’s wellbeing. The dude at the bar who was shouting starts loudly talking about how he loves “showering with fat women” and makes a comment about my body out of nowhere, when, to be frank he had much more going on than I did. Bathroom door doesn’t have a lock, and the staff said it’s common for people to use the toilet and urinal at once (no barriers. Just free floating). I have zero intention of coming back, and I would recommend this place to no one. I have two stars because the bartender wasn’t terrible. Save yourself some money and some poisoning, grab some beer at a store...

About six months ago I went there and ordered a bacon cheeseburger it was busy drinks came slow,when she brought my burger out she dropped the top roll with lto and bacon, she got me a new roll with lto no bacon didn't say anything ,ate paided.fast forward to last night, I go in knowing there not busy,the one waitress was busy on her phone while the other was working on what looked like finishing her shift. When the girl finally realized I was staring at her she asked if I want a drink,and put down her cellphone I ordered a cheeseburger hoagie with bacon and fries,got my hoagie (no bacon) after she stopped texting whoever was more important then the 5 or 6 people there I told her no bacon and said take it off bill,no biggie. She tells me the bacon came together with fries so the bill was the same. Also since it's a sports bar you would think on a Sunday at 7:45 pm a game is on but no they had dateline on nice and loud too.by about 8:10 they put on flyers game on and turned on music loudly, nice going...

I am new to the Pottstown area and had my first experience here to watch some Monday night football this Fall 2018. After the false assurance of the airing of a Titans/Cowboys game at a different nearby sports bar, the extremely friendly service we received when we rushed over HERE was fantastic and exactly what we had hoped for. Our hot wings were delicious, beer was cold, and the fries were an unexpected delight for our preference - few places have shoestring-like krinkle cut fries. I have been back without my visiting guests since then, as well as having ordered take out, and have experienced consistent quality and very good service no matter how busy they are or what I am seeking! I especially love that I can keep updated on their specials of food and drinks by checking out their Instagram. This is a small business that I will happily keep visiting, so glad that our football mishap...
