Great service from the guy at the register. He was friendly, helpful, patient, seriously refreshing.

The burgers were good. We had the hangover burger, which was actually really filling and pretty good. The bacon is like cheap tiny floppy bacon, not like if you make it at home, but it was fine and there was bacon in every bite. The burger patty was thin but good flavor. The egg is like scrambled eggs patty like in many breakfast sandwiches. The special sauce is a strong ketchup based sauce.

Here's where they lost stars.... They forgot our large french fry (we discovered when we got home 10 mins away and then they didn't answer their phone) The amount of waffle fries wasn't even filling the cup, let alone sticking out of the cup at all. They were however yummy, which made the lack of a full cup hurt even more. ( I asked about the size when I ordered, debating if I should get two, but they said it was filled up completely.) I assure you, it was not. Fried zucchini was good, just softer than I remember, not really crispy like I swear it used to be. Still good enough though. Also could have been more in the cup, we got 7 pieces total.

FWIW This was a fast improvement over the last time I went, about 5 years ago, when the manager was rude, forgot half my order, which I didn't notice until I got home and then they acted like it didn't happen when I went back to pick it up. And all the burgers had no condiments.

Super bowl free burger. I decided to try again. They still can't remember all the food in the order, shame on me for not checking I guess... Shame on them for not getting it right. (Oh and, no, it was not busy)

Anyways, kudos to the guy at the front and the cooks. Whomever is bagging the food and grabbing the fries... Don't be stingy and make sure you got everything please.

I'll be back if I'm in the area, but I'm DEFINITELY checking my order is all there.

Now, do I go make a 20 minute round trip to pick up a $4 large fry, try tomorrow, or...

I don't think I've ever left a drive thru angry before. My last visit to this restaurant was different. Everything from ordering to receiving my order was terrible. Let me preface by saying I have managed restaurants for over 20 years and I have never been treated so rudely. The young lady at the drive thru window was so disrespectful and blatantly dismissive that it was insulting. When I pulled up to the window, she wouldn't even look at me. She had a dower look and gave me my total. After handing my receipt she continued to hand me my kids meals and other items without saying a single word or looking at me. When I asked if that was everything she looked behind her and said loudly, "HAVE A NICE DAY, SIR!" and slammed the window in my face. Now I know there is probably something underlying here and it's not me she's pissed at but why ON EARTH would you have this young lady front and center as the face of your restaurant unless you DONT CARE or you are actively trying to sabotage your restaurant? I will NEVER return here. The food is overpriced and under delivers anyway and if you don't have decent customer service then... What's the...

They really need to get their act together in the drive thru. I am not particularly impatient with food, but I expect you to prioritize drive thru traffic. The guy behind me got fed up and backed out. Im not sure why they take so long. Next time I'll go to rancho peñasquitos location. They also refused to sub ranch on a burger that i never have issues with anywhere else. Not only that, but they didn't even get my order correct 😑 Seriously? Carl's is supposed to be prided on being better, meatier, and more accurate than their competitors, MickeyD's or Jack; which (on more than one occasion) this location has failed to do so. Get your act together Poway CJ! I know you may not get paid much, but the price of your food needs to merit the decision to go there instead of somewhere similar. I'm not asking for much, and am not a difficult, nor picky, customer to please. If McDonald's can do it better, so can you. I grew up with CJ being my local fast food joint, and always had great feelings associated with their image. But man did this location mess that...
