I’ve ordered to go twice at this location and from my experiences at a variety (50 or so) of Chinese type food locations they would get 3 stars. The first thing that stood out was the price about 33% more than I expected it should be. Next was the differences in style of cooking certain items, which wasn’t necessarily a negative factor just different because it made a somewhat new taste experience. Last Factor for my review was the portion size, I find their portions are approximately 25 to 30% less quantity wise than a large or pint size order should be. From my experience when I spend $100 on Chinese food for four people there’s leftovers for the next day, but not in these 2 visits. Granted, there are two big eaters at the table But the balance are the two very light eaters. The people that run the restaurant are pleasant. It was about a 30 minute wait for the food. Overall I wouldn’t mind paying $100 for what I ordered if the portion sizes were what they should be because I look forward to the leftovers. My suggestion is to shrink the portion size or raise the price,...
Read moreAwful experience at China Jiang on E. Emory Rd tonight. I ordered A Beef Lo Mein dinner Togo. When I got home and had a few bites it did not taste like it usually does. But that is not the really bad part about half way through I come across a piece of meat with a hair cooked into it. I took it back and the woman at the counter was on the phone with someone and mentioned they were the new owners. That explains the taste but definitely not the hair. When she hung up I showed her my meal and the hair in it. She asked me if I wanted another and I told her no. She asked what did I want then. I told her that I would like a refund and she said but you ate some of it! I explained I ate it until I discovered the hair. She took it to the kitchen and had a conversation with the cooks and came back and muttered something I didn't quite catch and opened the cash drawer and shoved 8$ into my hand. And told me to go find it better somewhere else! Once I returned home the restaurant was calling me! I'll have to say I won't be back there even though it is the only...
Read moreI frequent this restaurant almost weekly. It is basically a take-out atmosphere only providing a few tables for those who might want to sit and eat on the premise. This is typical of a multitude of Chinese take out restaurants in the metropolis I originally grew up in. What is not typical is the food! It is very high quality with large portions. The "house special" versions of dishes are always well worth paying attention to. Their Won-ton soup is a meal in itself and comparable to none I have had thus far. This is a family run operation with the offspring often doing homework and tending the orders and sales as well. Although not always outwardly friendly they are very efficient and the food speaks for itself. If a spring roll and fried rice is as far into Chinese cuisine as you venture then most any other take out service will suffice for you. Pricing is very reasonable with $15 to $20 feeding two hungry adults often with left-overs. Try that with other fast food restaurants. You won't be disappointed with the dishes...
