You're good here. Especially if you know the "big boss" one call to him gets you everything. This was the first time here for my husband and I since Spicys closed. In our area its hard to find somewhere like this without going to West Knoxville. Even though there was a wait we were seated within 20 minutes and a table within touching distance of the band. This worked out great because my husband was on crutches. We had a wonderful server and good food. We were seated around 8 and the band began at 830. At approximately 1030 a man approached our table. He came close to me on my side and asked if "we could move one table back to open up a dance floor" Sure I didn't mind. But he kept on and on close to me asking us to move and helping me move. I obviously thought he worked there. He helped move our things then our server returned and asked if He asked us to move and then apologized saying he did NOT work for them and this should not have happened. She said no the table would NOT be moved In the meantime he comes back and I asked him who he was. He stuttered and I told him to get away from me. In the meantime a young lady who seated us comes to the table and says she is the manager. She is a young lady with dark brown hair. She repeatedly apologizes for this man and his behavior. We assure all is fine don't worry. Our server returned and said no they would NOT be using our table. A few minutes a lady with long dark hair and that man who asked us to move reappear. They move the table we were sitting at after we've been told it wouldn't be. Only our table no one else. Our poor little server comes back to tell us the man who originally wanted it moved knows the owner. The big guy and called him and they moved it. And as for the dark haired server who came and moved it but didn't have the balls to say anything. Apparently this is an establishment where if you know someone, hey just pick up the phone, rules don't apply to you. MY HUSBAND IS A RECENT AMPUTEE. HE IS JUST BEGINNING TO WALK WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF CRUTCHES. WE HAD A PERFECT TABLE FOR HIM. THIS WAS OUR DATE NIGHT. MY HUSBAND IS RETIRED FROM UPS MANAGEMENT SO WE WEREN'T HERE FOR FREE WATER AND APPETIZERS. WE WERE GOING TO SPEND MONEY. SO APPARENTLY ITS ABOUT PICKING UP THE PHONE AND ASSERTING YOUR AUTHORITY. THAT'S FINE AS I INTEND TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH EVERYONE MY HUSBAND IS CONNECTED TO AT UPS, AT OUR CHURCH AND A LOCAL JEWELRY STORE ON BROADWAY WHICH IS OWNED BY MY FAMILY. ONCE AGAIN OUR SERVER AND PERSON WHO.APOLOGIZED WERE WONDERFUL. THE PERSON WHO NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE AS ALWAYS DOESN'T. THIS PLACE IS NEW AND IF THIS IS THE WAY THEY TREAT DISABLED PATRONS AND PEOPLE, THEY WON'T LAST. MY DISABLED, RETIRED, AMPUTEE HUSBAND IS THE ONE WHO WILL SPEND MONEY NOT THE TABLE OF 6 HARRY POTTER/TWILIGHT FANS. BUT GO AHEAD AND CLEAR A PAYING TABLE SO...
Read moreI am saying that it's just ok on the service. As with all of the other restaurants I have been to lately. It's hard to plan on the staff,to have working, since this virus has started. Now that some of the restaurants are going back to opening the dining rooms. They are not able to get "guess" how many people will join them to eat, before 4 PM or after 4 pm. A normal Sunday crowd could be 20 people all day. But we had 7 in our group. Drinks were great at first, then they started slowing down. A cheese cake was ordered in our group. That's all she wanted with strawberries. Waitress returns with questions about her cheesecake. It's already got all 3 toppings on it. Strawberries, caramel and chocolate. Ok that's fine. Next waitress returns with questions about the lasagna, 2 people ordered the lasagna. One ordered with the meat and one ordered without, just the mariner. Now all these choices are on the menu to look at and decide on the price, helping amount etc...pizza and wings are there too. Now back to the lasagna, she( patron) said according to the menu there's both and a 3.00 difference. I had the meatless a couple of days ago and that's what I want. That's why I am back again today. The first 3 orders come out, more drink refills. Waitress brings garlic rolls and sits them down. The other orders should be coming right out. No, it was about 5 more minutes. Ok, no big deal, more garlic knots. Those were for the spaghetti, the others were for the lasagna with mariner. Waitress finally comes back around so we asked about the other lasagna. She's going to check on it. Comes by and drops off more garlic knots and offers more drinks. One ordered his food to go. Ask again about the lasagna, she's like did they not bring it out? Not yet, can you get it and bring it out? So finally the 2nd lasagna was delivered (20 minute or longer)after all of the other food was last delivered. Don't know what the trouble was but between the cook and waitress it took an hour to get everyone their food. But that was not counting the to go order or cheesecake. At least his lasagna was hot, the whole time he was eating it. I had already lost my patience with the all the questions about the cheesecake. Then it was to dry and crumbly. The lasagna questions and mariner sent me into the Twilight Zone!! Sad part is 4 of the 7 know the owner. Lol The BBQ sandwich is better than any others I have had. Try it with the...
Read moreStart to finish everyone was so great and the food was a mixed bag but mostly good. I had to get some food to bring my mom who was stuck in Tennova North hospital nearby and stayed for a couple of local Tennessee beers and a snack of my own.
As soon as I walked in the door they were super helpful in trying to make my visit great. It's a really nice place. Great vibe. Great service. Sooooo nice. Nicole at the bar was fantastic!
I got fried pickles because.. well... Apps were only $6 when I was there at 6pm on a Wed, and fried pickles are amazing. I also got the delta catfish app, which to be honest was perfectly fried with homemade chips (not british chips, but the American Lays type) that were super crispy. I also ordered the Cheese Bings (a suggestion from my brother over the phone that I swore were Cheese Beans and was initially very confused by). Good news! No beans, lots of cheese and lots of yummy. It was all a bit overcooked, sadly except for the fries which I love crispy, but it is bar food, so not disturbed by it :)
The garlic knots were really great. Get those. The apple cobbler was also amazing. Not so much cobbler but a surprising puff pastry that was incredible. Get that, too. Lasagne seemed like it was just nuked. Lots of cheese. Very wet. So if that's your type of lasagna, you will like this. We didn't really.
Ok everything else I ordered was basically a heart attack on a plate, but occasionally that's ok. And well... I'm sure we all need a little break during all the crazy surrounding us now and again, so no judgements ;)
It was pretty yum and everyone was terrific so, I'll need to come back. The food itself would likely get a 4, but I'm giving this a 5 stars because the people were...
