Ding How Chinese Buffet — Restaurant in Prattville

MAY 1, 2024 @2:40 pm The food was delicious until my husband needed more drink and approached a table where our waitress was sitting with children at the front of the store. As my husband got to the waitress to request a refill, one of the children very rudely YELLED GET AWAY CREEPY GUY! 😡 I immediately pushed my food to the side and we left. You don’t ever know the struggle someone deals with every day as a disabled veteran. So rude children should be taught by parents to show compassion. Needless to say we will not ever visit this establishment again. To be fair the ‘mother figure’ came to the check out and said sorry for the little boy but the damage was already done. So if you love being torn to shreds by a smart mouthed little boy very loudly to pay someone your hard earned money go give them your business I guess. Definitely one of the better Chinese buffets that I have been to. The food was really good and they had chocolate pudding, my favorite, for dessert. The service was good with my empty plates being promptly picked up. The atmosphere was totally lacking. There was no music and the Fox News TV show was silenced, which I was interested in watching because Steven Miller was on. None of the other diners were talking and I went solo so I was not going to talk to myself. Then a family with small children came in and I exited as quickly as possible. Also there were ominous signs warning that if you wasted any food that you would be charged extra. So I I basically over-ate because I was paranoid of the extra charge. Disappointingly, there were some things that I did not try because I wanted to taste them but again didn't want to leave food on my plate. I would prefer they not have those signs up. I’ve been eating at Ding How in Prattville for years, even at their old location. Always been satisfied; however the last several visits has been bad, poor choices of food on bar - corn nuggets, chicken fingers, stir fried green beans - that’s not my idea of “Chinese food.” We got there at 11:35 and the entire bar was cold, the egg rolls were twice fried/leftover tasting the “fried rice” had so many leftover English Peas that had turned white it was disappointing. The server never came to my table not even for the bill..I paid at register told lady I didn’t get a bill, she gave me a fortune cookie- THAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THE MEAL!!
