I drove 2 hours to dine at Osaka Sushi Bar! I cannot say 5 star experience enough for this establishment. Everything was perfect, delicious and most importantly, fresh! The staff was very friendly and on top of their service to customers.
I had heard good reviews from friends and now agree and I will say if I am in Prattville, Alabama, Osaka Sushi Bar will be my first choice for sushi!
For me, their house ginger salad was the best I have tasted and along with my waitress and the attention she shared to myself and my party immediately won my respect and the 5 star rating. Things just got better from there. First out came the Philidelphia Roll and a Spicy Tuna. Perfect! As we are enjoying that a second waiter arrives with a tray of heaven! The plate arrived and consisted of round ball like fried rolls stacked. First bite I died and arrived in paradise! Fancy Salmon Roll. Let your taste buds ponder this, I immediately thought of a funnel cake wrapped around melted cream cheese and salmon. Caution, center is hot (from cooking), so ease into this or you may burn yourself. But wait, I'm not done - the last tray arrived, Spicy Spider Roll, and it's huge too and as delicious as I've ever tasted! I could not pick a favorite from this evenings selections and will recommend these to try. I myself will drive 2 hours to eat here again!
As I usually do, to assist others with my reviews, a few notes for parking, handicapped accessible and store hours, I have posted a couple of outside pics. It was night and raining so forgive the lack of detail but I will try to make up for that here. It is located inside a small strip mall, with a small parking lot. Osaka is to the far left side of the lot from the parking lot entrance. There is a wheelchair ramp to the strip mall located just right of the center of the mall. The rest will be a step up from the parking lot. I did not visit the restroom on this visit so I have no information about that. They have a break time between lunch and evening service. The interior is nice, clean, quiet and they have a joining dining room for additional seating. I would take friends, go for date night or even use it as a business meeting location. Highly...
Read moreBased on a coworker's recommendation, my wife and I embarked on a one-hour journey to experience Osaka Sushi Bar, enticed by the numerous 5-star reviews we had spotted online.
However, our initial impression left much room for improvement. Upon our arrival, the young lady at the register seemed preoccupied with her phone and restaurant calls, leaving us and another couple waiting for almost two minutes without acknowledgment. Eventually, we were seated, but it took a few more minutes for someone to come and take our orders. My wife had several menu inquiries, but our server appeared rushed. After deciphering our choices, the food began to arrive.
The initial course was the house ginger salad, highly praised by other reviewers. Regrettably, its first impression didn't live up to the hype. It lacked visual appeal, resembling baby food over a bed of romaine lettuce. While it did possess the freshness of ginger, it also carried a tangy, citrusy undertone.
My wife opted for a hibachi combo while I chose a teriyaki combo. Surprisingly, both dishes shared a similar taste, with the hibachi beef essentially drenched in teriyaki sauce. The rolls accompanying the combo were not terrible, but they lacked the flavor punch we anticipated, leaving us desiring more zest.
The only dish that I thought was exceptional was the spicy tuna hand roll. Overall, our dining experience fell short of our expectations, leading us to leave with a sense of...
Read moreI love the Shogan Maki & Eel wrap. Shogan Maki & that yum sauce (I think that’s what they call it) 😘🤌🏻. One day I was like I really need sushi I really need some Eel dishes because back in Seattle at Pike Place I would always ordered an Eel Roll.
I found Osaka being close and all and decided to order Eel Roll, Shogan Maki & Eel Wrap. I will say the Eel Roll does not compare to the one I’ve had back in Seattle I was a little sad however that Shogan Maki was so delicious. I would love to come back and try to the King Eel Roll and other dishes. I keep hearing the shaggy dog is good would come by soon to try it out. Thank you for a good experience!
Additional Review; I went back a couple weeks ago to dine in. I actually like the Shogan Maki more than the Shaggy Roll. I also ate lots of ginger (I kept calling it radish because of the coloring reminds me of radishes 😂) I believe I also order eel roll & shrimp nigiri. Honestly I was so happy eating eel dishes, Shogan Maki with yum yum sauce and...
