Had lunch here today (probably for the last time)!! The service was horrible. First of all, when the waitress took the order, she didn't hear it all and instead of saying could you please repeat that, she became a smart ass making me wonder if I had not said it right. She asked if it was separate tickets, and I replied, "No, the ticket is mine." Apparently, she decided to just ignore us after giving the 3 of us our food because we were never offered a drink refill. We'd finished eating and waited a good while for a ticket so we could leave. Finally I had to go to the bar and ask for a ticket so we could leave. Again, after waiting for the ticket, I had to walk to the bar to get it. Of course, she handed me 3 separate tickets!!! 🙄 I tried to explain to her that I had told the waitress one ticket from the beginning, and the bartender/cashier tried to tell me that she'd asked my friends & they told her separate tickets. I asked them, and they said, "No." I hate this happened because I actually liked going in there for lunch. The place used to be great, but whatever B of a waitress they have now has ruined that! Sad really to see one of our local establishments go down so very far in service!! The food is still good. They used to have the best perfectly seasoned. turnip greens, but they are now so spicy now that I can't eat them. They also used to have some...
Read moreIt was my 40th Wedding Anniversary and I decided to get my husband to bring me here for some good Seafood. I was unfortunately disappointed in the food tonight. My husband's fried shrimp were VERY Over Cooked and my Sauteed Crab Claws were not only tiny but also over cooked to the point where the meat was so rubbery that it was difficult to pull off the flat Cartilage with your teeth. I Love Seafood and truly hate to see it ruined. We dined early when there was only a few customers so it really surprised me that they did as badly as this with the food. Fortunately the Onion Rings and Hush Puppies were both good. I had not had any in quite a while and just for the fun of it, I asked them to let me get just 2 Fried Oysters. They did for a dollar! They were quite good. The atmosphere was terrific. We both smoke, so the fact that they allow smoking is a big plus for us! We dined relatively early when there were very few customers so it was still pretty quiet. Our Service was impeccable! The young lady was bright, cheerful and personable! She took our drink order within 5 minutes of us walking in and kept checking back on us regularly during our meal! I was glad to be able to go somewhere where no one's kids were screaming while I was trying to enjoy my meal that I had paid...
Read moreApril 22, 2019 Called to check on hours before going. Phone rang and rang ... I did this several times. Based on published hours they were to be open another to hours. We were out & not far from PP&O so drove on over. In meantime they answer phone & state they've close a while ago. No problem but by this time we were in front & turned around in parking lot... to see cars in parking lot, folks walking in and out of door that lit sign above door reads open. From car we could hear either music or crowd of people o88 iij talking. Didn't look or sound like they were closed. We didn't bother to get out & go to door cause what different would it make. The girl on phone stated closed to us... but it didn't match what we pulled & came across. We sat at least 30min talking & we noticed nothing changed, no one left, open sign remained on & no cars left lot. Maybe it was a private party or something important enough to run oknff new customers. But my suggestion for what its worth... Don't answer phone, or put answering machine on with closed to public early for _ , or tell folks why they can't come in when its obvious you're open. Post a sign on door. Just don't make folks feel like you're better than them & they're not good enough...
