Id give ZERO stars if I could. The experience my husband and I had at Aldis in Prattville Alabama was awful. The store hasnt been open very long and we went to it today for the first time. The store was very clean, produce and meats all looked great and prices were very good. The ladies on the floor that were stocking was very friendly and helpful. My issue is when we went to check out and was the lucky winners of Jared, the rudest cashier I've ever encountered. We had 3 cases of energy drinks, some produce, milk, baby food and a few other things. I had my two small children in the cart. We put everything on the conveyor belt and awaited check out as there was one person in front of us. Jared never spoke to us or anything. My husband asked if he had ever tried the energy drinks, told him we liked the store and that we had never been before, just trying to make small talk and interact, and he shook his head no. That's fine but I expected a little friendlier, at least a word or two. We didnt know you had to bring your own bags because we had never been to Aldis before so we got two paper bags and put them on the belt too. He rang everything up, still hasnt spoke to us to even looked at us at this point. My two children were in the cart and I was back a little ways and hadn't moved up yet, so he took the two closed bags and put them in an empty cart that was beside him. He did not bag them. Also didnt know that was a thing and was never told it was by him, who knew were new customers. So I moved forward and waited for him to bag them and put them in my cart. Instead he grabbed my cart, swung it around nearly taking my foot off and said we had to leave it there. He saw I had two small children in the cart. I don't know what he was thinking but I wanted to push them to the car and unload my groceries. He never even bagged our groceries! Never spoke to us, didnt say thank you, or anything! I had to take both of my children out and carry them, and my husband had to carry the bags which werent light.
Upon getting to the car and processing all that happened we realized he didnt even give my husband the recipt! My husband and I both suffer from disabilities which makes it hard to carry heavy items and walk far distances and it sure hurt to tote two childen to the car that we had to park far away. It was very rude and I do not appreciate being treated that way! I expected my first experience to be a lot better as people are always singing the praises of the "great Aldis".
The energy drink prices are so good we decided to go back and try again. Maybe Jared had a bad day? Maybe he was struggling with something a d I, being an understand person figured I'd give him a pass. BOY WAS I WRONG! Once again, 8 cases of Red Thunder, and $60 worth of groceries and two children in the cart and we got nearly the exact same rude, rushing and worst service I've ever got at a store! I was floored. He tried to snatch the cart again and i pulled back and told I'm that I will not be carrying my children and 20 bags of products to the car again. He just stood up and walked away. Not even a single word this time. Just attitude and annoyance form him. Even being the second time in the store and having gone through this again i still held my toungue in front of my kids. I can not believe how JARED thinks he can treat people!
I dont think I'll ever go back. I love the prices but if employees are allowed to do that then I'll continue my business with Walmart where I have never had a cart taken at checkout and made to bag and carry my own heavy groceries to the car. Even with the rep that Walmart gets the employees at least speak to you. Millbrook abd Prattville Walmart will get my business form here on out. I am mortified at Jareds behavior and I hope this taken care of. I can see from other reviews were not the only ones either. Just...
Read moreVery disappointed in the customer service of Prattville Alabama store. I went into the store at 7:45pm CST. on July 24th, not knowing the store closed at 8:00 pm CST. When I got to the front, the door was already closed and locked. Therefore, I asked a female employee through the closed door if they were closed. She rudely pointed to the exit door and said go in there, we're closing. So, I entered the store and began to quickly go through the store to purchase produce and meats. Unfortunately I could not purchase produce because I am in a wheelchair and there was a big cart and mop bucket in the way. So, I went toward the meat department. I was actually sitting in front of the meat counter shopping when a second female employee walked up and pulled down the blinds that covered the meat and cheese. She also said, "We're closing." So, I said, "well it looks like Aldi doesn't want my money." I picked up some milk and just checked out. I have never been more rudely treated and it is completely unacceptable. The only employee that was even halfway considerate was the cashier. There was another couple that came in the store at the same time I did but they left before I did. I heard the same employees tell them the store was closing so I imagine they were treated about the same way I was. I hope they too will write a review of the unprofessional way we were treated. NEWSFLASH: If a customer is in your store before closing time, you let them finish their shopping, you DO NOT, basically throw them out because it's a few minutes before closing time! I have contacted Aldi management about this situation, I will wait to see how management handles it before I decide if I will shop there again. One other thing I have noticed is that the produce is not as fresh as it was when the store first opened. I also have purchased Mama Cozzi's turkey pepperoni on two occasions and it has been spoiled. So, won't be...
Read moreIf you're into organic &/or high quality produce without busting your budget, this is the store for you. Why haven't I come here sooner? I've only been an Aldi customer for about 2 mos and I've been loyal since day 1 where milk is (as of late) $.30 cheaper per gallon and most dairy products are far more affordable than even places like Walmart and Cost Saver. I enjoy saving money, but it shouldn't have to come at the cost of quality, and since I've been shopping here I can afford to buy fruit for my kids lunches and offer healthier options vs all the prepackaged junk. Only bummer about Aldi is that every week can be different in refrigerated and frozen stock, so if you get attached to something, buy it up while you can.
Helpful hints if you've never shopped here: bring a quarter if you need a cart/basket. You place it into the slot and it unlocks a cart, and when you return your cart, it unlocks your quarter buy or bring your own bags. They have them for purchase at the checkout lane, but they place your groceries loosely back into the cart) at the end of the checkout stand before they take yours to replace it - don't worry it still has the quarter), so you pay and steer yourself to the nearby counter where you then bag your own groceries once you're done loading your groceries, if you're feeling kind, you might sacrifice your quarter by asking someone going into the store if they need a cart...
