I was, to say the least, very disappointed. The sign advertised authentic Mexican Restaurant. The menu looks great with a multitude of choices. Pictures of some very good looking dishes. Mind, on the other hand, was very lacking.
Building and interior: Very clean and bright. Easy to see and find. Nice signage. Inside is spacious and inviting. Booths are very clean and comfortable. Floor is spotless. Restrooms are in a very bad location, almost in the kitchen.
Starters: Chips and salsa are the average run of the mill. Chips were fresh and crispy. Salsa is ok, nice taste but no chunks. I only see a couple of onion chips, No peppers or tomatoes. Salsa has a nice bite. A little spicy but not overwhelming. Cheese dip is also average. Option to order it with peppers, but wifey declined.
Service: Staff very nice. Were quickly seated. Server at table very quickly with chips and salsa. Oder taken as soon as we were ready. Nice lady
Food: Wife had her standard steak quesadilla, meat and cheese only. Order was correct and served very hot. She enjoyed.
I ordered a combo of Beef Burrito, Beef Tamale, and Beef Chile Relleno. The amount of food was nice. Plenty of ground beef to go around, but why? It looked as if my plate was a return from another table. The Burrito was in between to other two items. It looked nice and appeasing. The others, not so much. Lets start with the Relleno. In all my years of eating foods from south of the border and while visiting south of the border, I have not seen something like this. It was about 2 spoon fulls of ground beef on the plate with a small pepper, either a quarter of a chile or the butt end of a bell pepper, covering the beef and a slice of cheese on top. Not what i expected. The Tamale wasn't any better. No husk. Just a BLOB of mesa on the plate topped( Covered) with some ground beef. No filling in the mesa at all. Not tasty at all. The beef had no flavor or spice. Very bland. I felt like Gordon Ramsey. I wanted to ask, " What the HECK is THIS??"
I understand tamales are very time consuming to make, but if this the best offering for a tamale take it off the menu. PLEASE work on the tamales AND the relleno. I wanted so much for this to be really good, but it fell...
Read moreMy husband took me to Mexico Tipico this afternoon, hoping for a nice lunch with his wife. He looked forward to it and he didn't even want others to come along. However the experience today has made a non-customer out of us.
I ordered a frozen Margarita. Unfortunately it didn't taste good. It tasted syruppy and gooey. I asked the waitress if I could just replace this with another drink. She said that they don't switch out drinks and if I wanted to speak to the manager. My husband spoke to the manager who repeated what the waitress said. Well I explained how it tasted. To be honest it really didn't taste fresh.
Well, customers are pouring in there and to not even attempt to remedy a situation has definitely given this establishment one less customer. Frankly two, me and my husband. I had heard that Mexico Tipico had good food but NOT good Margaritas. Unfortunately I gave them the benefit of the doubt and ended up paying $7.00 for something I couldn't drink. Those frozen drink machines have to be cleaned daily and if the drink didn't taste fresh then I would hate to guess about the machine.
The Waitress and the Manager took my appetite away. I ate a spoonful of the food but didn't want anymore. The experience left me upset. There are too many Mexican choices around here to be treated like...
Read moreMy family friends and I have frequented Mexico Tipico for 10 plus years but unfortunately the customer service has declined of the past 3-4 years and today sealed the deal. I called to place an order and patiently waited for them to pick up. I request to place an to go order and start immediately after the employee (who I later found out was the manger/owner Mr. Rogelio “Robertt” Ramirez) acknowledged he was ready. I only had a chance to order one item then he said ok and proceeded to end the conversation, I interjected and informed him I wasn’t done with the order. With a tone he replied, “you need to hurry up I have other customers.” As one could imagine I was taken aback. I politely asked him to cancel the order and drove to the restaurant to gain some clarity on the matter. As I approached the registered I informed the gentleman who was Robert, the issue and he had no comment. I’m here to inform the public that they do not value their customers. To no surprise they have lost my business. I will not spend any money with someone who does not appreciate my business. Be careful with this business I don’t recommend...
