Food was good, atmosphere was okay, service was horrid, and prices were horrible, extremely crowded and uncomfortable. This place might have been great for people a couple years ago, but from my visit today, it’s just plainly not worth the money. Heres a run through on my experience there, we arrived at around 5:30 and left at 7:30, the wait time in their small waiting room was about 15 minutes give or take, the waitress said follow me, she was in a hurry and didn't even bother to wait for us to maneuver our way around the tables because of how small the place was and the amount of furniture crammed in there, so we didn't even see that she dropped the menus on a table so we ended up following her passed our table when another customer made a comment about that being our table... the waitress didn't even offer to get a high chair for the carseat we were carrying., My wife had to go find one herself. Okay, fine.... but then we waited another 10 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes before we got the bread (which was overdone and salad. She brought our two cans of rootbeers with glasses of ice right after the bread, okay so maybe this wasn't that bad to this point. but this is where it gets ridiculous, she was sooo over worked that an hour after the last time she stopped by our table, she made the comment that she was sorry and our food will be right out, we were like WHAT?! We haven’t even ordered our food yet! Finally she came back around and we ordered and by the time we got our food we had already drank all our rootbeer and asked for refills. The food was good, not great; the pastas were slightly over cooked. We had been there so long that a different server stopped by our table not even 8 minutes after we got our food and asked if we needed a to go box. We finished eating and fed the rest of our son’s food to him and got his ice cream that came with his meal. Now it was time for the bill and I was expecting it to be like 30 bucks, it came out to $47.50...... she had charged us $8 (which she didn’t inform us there were no free refills) for 4 cans of soda that I could have bought at any grocery store for $2.50 and got 2 extra cans on top of that, the little child plate was 6.95 alone for three raviolis and 2 little scoops of...
Read moreHad been here once before about 10-12 years ago and it was very nice. If I remember right, it was the actual owner who came to our table that visit and was very pleasant and wanted to make sure we were having a good experience. Went last night for Mother’s Day. Four of us. We requested a booth. Had to wait over an hour in the teensy loud foyer. When they finally seated us it was at a table, which, ok, they were slammed and that’s where they could finally seat us. The main thing that struck me was how droves of people came thru the door while we’d already been waiting over the course of an hour or more, and walked straight back to the seating area with their wines and hugs all around to the rest of the regulars, while we languored in the super crowded noisy foyer. The way all the regulars apparently knew each other and obviously had special arrangements with the owner to override the newbies (us) so we were last on the totem pole. The service was horrid. Absolutely the worst I’ve had in 30 years. Servers kept changing and our teas and drinks were empty for at least 20-30 minutes before they refilled them, and we had to literally stop a server to request refills and, although not outwardly rude, they neglected us like we were 3rd class citizens. At one point after they finally brought our meals we asked for napkins and refills. Another 20 minutes later and we had to request again bc they’d “forgotten “ about us. Terrible server attitudes. Not one single smile or welcome words. The food was its only saving grace, which was good. But I like my sit-down dining to include good service and they definitely didn’t provide even a lick of that. If you’re not a regular expect to be overrun by the good ol boy club, because you’ll be treated poorly. I...
Read moreWe used to absolutely love La Bruzza's when Gabe was there making sure everything was perfect. Unfortunately, since his passing things have gone downhill. Last night (03/13/21) was the final straw. We did a takeout of the Chicken Parmesan and Gnocchi with spicy meat sauce. First of all, the salad portion is about 50% of what it used to be. The bread portion was also about half of what we used to receive (it's all you can eat if you do sit down). On the way home, my vehicle smelled of old, burnt oil. When we opened the chicken parmesan, the edges were burned and the breading was soggy and falling off. The cheese topping was hard and the chicken cool and the entire dish smelled of old oil. The side dish of penne pasta with marinara was floating in water. Enough said. The Gnocchi's were fine, although there were far fewer than in the past. The spicy meat sauce, however, had barely two tablespoons of meat, the rest was basically tomato sauce. Unfortunately, this dish as well was floating in water. No napkins, no plasticware as is typical with takeaway orders.
It's not atypical to receive slightly smaller portions or not piping hot food when using takeaway service...many restaruants seem to have this "out of sight, out of mind" attitude when it comes to customers who are not sitting there. Perhaps it has to do with not receiving any gratuity (although we always give it anyway to help the service staff). Not sure...but last night's meal was all but inedible.
We are very disappointed as whomever the new owners are have destroyed what was once a regular stop for 40 year residents of Prescott who used to really view a trip to La...
