When you drive into a small town like Preston you expect to find one of those quaint family restaurants that rolls out delicious home-cooked meals while delivering warm friendly service that warms the heart--and the belly :) Disappointingly, both were lacking at Big J Burgers.
I had never been to Preston before and this burger joint---reviewed highly at 4+-- looked like it would satisfy my craving for some freshly cooked burgers and fries. When I first walked in, instead of being greeted with a smile, I was left waiting at the counter while several of the employees were chit-chatting in the back. Their conversation must have been very intriguing because it felt like several minutes before this gal named Tana finished chatting and came to the counter. When I informed her that this was my first visit and asked for a recommendation, she looked at me blankly for a second and then halfheartedly went over the menu. I decided to go with the Big J Burger--seemed liked that should be their bread and butter.
I have to admit by the time I got my burger and fries I was already disappointed by the total lack of customer service and cold reception. The patty was a little stiff and the bun was stale. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great. Overall an...
Read moreVery disappointed in my service. I came in to get a sandwich and a very nice boy named Nick took my order. I was from out of town (Nevada) and had only heard good things from the business. Nick was super friendly and asked me where I was from and had a big smile on his face. Nick wasnt the issue, as I was receiving my card, an older lady, Nancy came up and waved her hands and motioned for me to move. I didnt feel welcome at all after that. I don't know if she was a supervisor or what she was but very very unwelcoming. Didnt expect that from a place I've heard so highly about. I will make sure not to come back again. Thank you nick for your kind service. Sorry you work for such a self centered, no customer service, money hungry...
Read moreHorrible experience. Attendant comes to car and takes order, INCORRECTLY. We drive off, began eating, find the food is wrong. Return to be told we paid for what we got... but yet again it was WRONG! Not my fault your employee didn't pay attention, I shouldn't have had to return period. What kind of business is this? I suppose the old guy who came to the window was the supervisor, he began arguing about eaten/missing food. Again, we ordered, received the wrong stuff and didn't know.
Never again. Have local family & friends. I'll make sure to let them know this isn't a place worth...
