Sometimes it's about more than just the food. Now, don't get me wrong, the food is pretty good for Midwestern, Americanized Chinese food. The Moo Shu (my go to) was solid and they were super generous with the pork and egg in it. The Kung Pao and General Tso's could stand to be hotter but we keep condiments at home to help with that (we did takeaway). House fried rice and Pork Lo Mein were satisfyingly greasy, chock full of meat and veg, and seasoning was on point.
All that being said what impressed us was this: They were running (as are many places) short handed. When we went to pick up our food the order hadn't gotten from the hostess's cell phone to the kitchen so we ended up waiting an hour. By way of apology they gave us a free picture frame. Now, some might think that's kind of cheesy or, "What does a picture frame have to do with Chinese food?" What it shows me is that they tried to go above and beyond to make it up to us. It's small things like that which impress me about a place. Once our order hit the kitchen they rallied and got it done in short order. The staff really are great, the prices are reasonable, and I ended up with more fortune cookies that is reasonable. I will NEVER complain about extra fortune cookies!
Overall the food is a 3.5 but I bumped for the service. There is another Chinese place in Princeton and you can look for my review on that; but, buckle up- it'll be...
Read moreThis is why I gave it 2 stars:
Food - Lukewarm food that should be hot and room temperature food that should be cold.
Service - Finished plates not picked up until check was brought. Drink not refilled even once.
Price - Overpriced for this grade of food and service. Also, pricing is misleading. Expected to pay 9.95 per adult and was charged 12.95 for "Seafood Buffet" and none of us had any seafood, which I believe only includes crab legs... I know that some places will have it where certain days are different buffet types but it's usually clear when that is the case.
Honestly and sadly, it's the best someone is going to find, Asian buffet wise, in this area. For being better than others in the area I gave it...
Read moreEasily the best Asian buffet I've had in a long time! I'm no connoisseur of Asian food, but I know good Chinese buffet versus bad Chinese buffet. 😊 The last several I have visited have left me feeling bloated... almost sick. Here, the food was all very flavorful, but wasn't super heavy or super fried. My first plate included a sampling of several items, and I liked each of them so much--including the green beans--that I went around and got all of the same items for my second plate! Pleasantly surprised to find this place in Princeton... it wasn't busy at all on this Monday night, so I hope the local community steps up their efforts in supporting this...
