I ordered a 10-piece jumbo wings plate to go. It was my first try of their food. It exceeded my expectations!
Okay, so the menu says jumbo and they weren't kidding. Ten wings is usually nothing for me, but I was stuffed after this. I should have stopped at 8 but they were so freaking good. I ordered them 'a little extra crispy' and even emphasized 'a little', even suggesting by just a minute or so. Perfect! My cat was mad at me the whole time because I would not share.
The plate came with 4-5 celery stalks and either blue cheese or ranch. I ordered blue cheese. For me, the blue cheese is usually a throw away item because most places say blue cheese but what you get is not blue cheese by any stretch. The very first bite of blue cheese I sampled had a big ole chunk of blue cheese (a first!). There were a couple more large chunks in their after this even. Honestly one of the best blue cheeses I've ever had. This one small thing sets them apart from anywhere else I've been, including Buffalo Wild Wings. Haven't tried the ranch and probably won't any time soon considering how good their blue cheese is.
The sauce. I tried mild because well I'm just a wuss when it comes to hot but it was good too. The one thing I really appreciated is that the wings weren't drowning in sauce. I almost ordered the sauce on the side because most places do this, but I wasn't trying to push my luck since I had the extra crispy special order in. Anyway, next time I'll try one a bit hotter and man up a bit, lol.
Price. Very reasonable. Currently $9.50 for 10-piece. This is fair, esp. considering they are indeed jumbo wings.
Service. Not sure, it was carry out but the gal was friendly and service quick.
Ambiance. Again, not sure but it looked clean. One thing, it wasn't loud. BW3 is one of the loudest places I've ever eaten and for this reason I thought, if they're trying to compete they're going to have blaring music. Not so. Truth is, this is why I got them to go, so next time I'll eat-in.
If I had to critique anything it would be the menu. I'm being picky here okay, but the menu could probably cut 1/3 of the items. They have wraps and salads and stuff like that but I'd be like the soup nazi from Seinfeld and focus on those wings and maybe a couple appetizers. Oh, and on the next menu printing guys make that phone# a bit bigger, I had to search for it, lol.
Give them a try and good luck if you're going for that Wall of...
Read moreOne visit was enough for us. The good: The atmosphere was very pleasant. My wife even mentioned right when we sat down that she would like to come back just to hang out here. The waitress was pretty attentive. Even though she didn't like seafood, she was able to recommend some things I might like. The manager, I'm assuming, did a table touch to check on us about 3/4 of the way through. The other manager, or nicely dressed host, I couldn't tell, brought out our order when the waitress was busy to help out.
The bad: The other hostess saw us and grabbed a couple menus and just walked off. We didn't know if she was going to see if a table was open or if we we're supposed to follow her. She never said anything so we waited. Then she came back to indicate we should have followed her. I got the wings and tots. The wing sauce was a vinegar based one. Not much flavor. Just a plain jane sauce. In their defence, I didn't get a flavored sauce like garlic or parmesan. I got the medium/hot buffalo and most of the vinegar based sauces from other restaurants taste about the same. They we're pretty drenched though but the batter wasn't soggy, so that's good. The tots were WELL done as well as my wife's fish. When the manager dropped off the food he forgot the tartar sauce and brought some back. No big deal. The he said he'd be right back with a spoon for her coleslaw and brought one. I asked him if the batter on her fish was supposed to look so "done" and he said that it always looks like that. After about 5 min, the waitress came by and I asked for silverware so I could eat my food and she brought me a set, but not my wife, so we shared. Her fish was way overdone. I'm a wannabe home chef so I peeled off some of the breading on her fish to see if I liked it enough to make it at home and it tasted like crispy cardboard. No seasoning at all. We didn't take any leftovers home.
All in all it was a neat place to stop by and the service was fair but we just weren't pleased with the food enough to spend $15 bucks each on stuff like wings and tots that tastes just like Rally's makes for $4. I really wish we liked it more because there's not a lot of good places to eat...
Read moreMy wife an I used to enjoy stopping in here on occasion when in town. This past Saturday we did so early afternoon to grab a couple cold beers an some wings. We are not the complaining type an are pretty understanding and laid back. But after being seted at a table next to bar and three people one or two seemed as to be managers stood three feet behind us and a gal at the bar, an nothing for over ten plus mins. Now until another couple come in after this amount of time and are seated directly next to us and asked immediately from the bar gal hay what can I get you folks. That kind of made us think nope and food will probably be even longer and not to par as past couple times we have been there. However we still tried to give them business knowing its a pretty difficult time and hard to find help or whatever but they were not busy people managers standing around who even greeted us. We got up and left however everything happens for a reason because we finally went an tried Klinkers which is our new favorite place great service...
