Nice labeled menu with plenty of vegan options.
Not an easy place to eat at dine in with kids. I would not recommend coming here with kids. Everything is served to-go. No trays or plates. It’s bare bones, all they have to take are napkins and only at the counter. Everything else you need to ask for.
Before we could start eating the flimsy water cups tipped over and created a mess. Unfortunately the only place you can get napkins is at the counter which is at the other end of the narrow long restaurant. The. The napkins are also super thin and not very useful at cleaning up water. They have no ply so not much ability to hold much.
Then one of our kids had an allergic reaction to either the pita chips or the baba ganoush. Out guess is the baba ganoush has ingredients that are blended in the same blender used with the pistachios. That was our bad and not the restaurant fault.
Finally when I tried to eat my falafel sandwich it was soaked and soggy. They didn’t give us forks for the sandwich and there aren’t any utensils left out to grab. I don’t know if we got a bad build but the tahini must have been too runny or too much. Next time I would get it on the side. I tried to eat the sandwich with a spoon and what little I ate was good but it was too hard to enjoy given how soaked it was.
The pita chips were stale and not crunchy.
The person behind the counter was nice when I needed another cup to split the mango drink we got.
The place has potential but if you want feedback, don’t skimp on napkins, use better quality water cups and have trays for dine in. If you want to keep things bare bones to keep cost down and menu prices, then shrink the size of the store and discourage dine in because the dine in experience sucks for anyone other than the regulars who know how to navigate...
Read moreVisit #2: Seeing I had been relatively harsh on my first review I decided to give mamouns a second chance at redemption. I order the sandwich and the pistachio baklava. This time I got the chicken variant and I would update my rating to a 3.5. It was better than meat but filled with tahini sauce which was runny and made it saltier than I am used to. NGL I liked it and the pistachio baklava was nice too but not as crunchy as I was imagining from the texture. So will give the overall experience a thumbs up if you haven't tried but don't see myself as a regular.
Visit #1 I visited Mamoun's Falafel and found the ambiance to be great. There was ample seating, and the music created a lively atmosphere. They have kiosks for ordering, which was convenient, but as a first-timer, I found it a bit tricky to decide what to order. I ended up getting the lamb platter ($13.99 plus tax), even though I initially had chicken in mind. The order didn’t take long to prepare, though I mistakenly went to pick it up before my turn.
The food was served hot, and the beef had a distinct charred flavor, which stood out. However, the rice wasn’t as fluffy as I’ve had elsewhere, and the overall dish felt a bit dry. While the meat was flavorful, the pairing with the rice didn’t quite meet my expectations.
Overall, the place has a nice vibe, and the ordering process is streamlined. However, just judging it based on the food, I’d say it was okay. Since this establishment has been around for a while, I’m sure they have a loyal fan base that appreciates their flavor profile—it just didn’t...
Read moreI finally experienced the best falafel ever!! Not only was it mouth watering moist, the crunch was so perfect! I also had 4 small grape leaves(first time) it was good, rich in flavor, not something I would normally eat but glad I tried Mamouns. My husband said they are normally cold & this was warm & I was happy. I also indulged in the lentil soup which was Amazing!! The texture was perfect, not too smooth but lumpy & hearty just how I like. For my drink I went with the mango & my husband got the tamarind which both were delicious. But the mango won my heart hands down. We also purchased two pastries, the knafe was extremely oily wasn’t sure if that was normal or not but I couldn’t finish it because of that. I did enjoy & finish the Baklava. Unfortunately though I went back a couple weeks later & there were flys flying about & landing on the pastries like they paid for them. The staff was total sweethearts & knowledgeable about all the food options. The space is beautiful, & makes total sense why it’s been going strong all these years. I could only imagine how busy it was before Covid. Excited, this is our...
