You oft see the line from Small World overflowing out of the cafe and out into the street. It appears splattered over the sidewalk like a latte spilled by someone still tucked away beneath the haze of morning grog. This line is as much a testament to the worthiness of the establishment as it is an indicator of insufficient queuing area. That is to say: it's pretty good but also could benefit from more queuing area. I come here 5 days a week at least and the staff play along that they don't recognize me or know vaguely what I'm about to order. It's an intoxicating relationship. It's a coffee shop with staff that doesn't outwardly judge you.. what more could one reasonably ask for? Today, my cashier replaced this star dollar from the tip jar with a dollar of his own. I think this is an accurate summation of the SW experience as a whole: they equip you to face the day whether it be with a coffee in your hand or, perhaps, a dollar in...
Read moreFor the past 7 or so years, we go to Small World Cafe to support the local business and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, buy coffee bags, mugs, T-shirts for gifts, while also visiting other businesses in town. Apparently the woman in the back thinks that if you need a cup with hot water, you need to line up and pay for it. Management, stop it, stop it! It's a cup with hot water, we've bought several hot chocolates for the entire family and snacks. I'm so disappointed that my family was treated this way after our continuous support of the location and I hope management trains their staff...
Read moreMy favorite coffee shop on earth. I LOVE Small World so much. It has what I consider to be the absolutely perfect coffee shop vibe; it’s a warm, friendly place with a ton of space to do work and has a certain authenticity to it that so many coffee shops today lack. It’s totally old school. My friend and I went there at least 3 times a week for the four years we were at school nearby and never tired of it. Their cappuccinos are phenomenal (especially paired with one of their delicious ginger cookies!!). Their coffeebeans are wonderful. My roommate and I always bought their Morning Blend to make our morning pour-overs in our dorm. The staff their always remembered our orders and were incredibly congenial. We both agreed that Small World is what we will miss most about the Princeton area. I cannot praise...
