Very disappointed. We’ve been hearing about Edelweiss Bakery for some time. We’re bakery lovers, and are fortunate to have a few favorite spots around the Twin Cities. This was a bit of a drive for us, and we were really looking forward to it. Heck, we’ll even drive to Tobies, in Hinkley, for great cinnamon rolls… we love exploring new places (that are new for us), and supporting local businesses. First impressions matter. Upon walking in, immediately noticed this was a really nice and bright looking place. Five young ladies “working” behind the counter, however, were more interested in talking about their week at high school than serving customers. Given the long drive, we ordered a few different things to make our journey worth it (in all, our order consisted of 4 cinnamon rolls, a ham and cheese croissant, 4 old fashioned donuts, and 2 chocolate glazed donuts). A bit overpriced, and a bit underwhelming… for example, the croissant had no cheese. Still left a generous cash tip… I only mention this because it’s the first time in my life I actually regretted tipping well. The girl who took my order forgot to add the two chocolate glazed donuts to my box. Noticed halfway home, but they weren’t worth going back for… and, realized perhaps she simply missed it; thus, not a big deal. Jerry’s bakery, in Edina, has far better donuts and cinnamon rolls for a fraction of the cost, and they’re friendly. Disappointing that a grocery store (Jerry’s, and even Byerly’s for that matter) has better baked goods than...
Read moreI recently visited Edelweiss Bakery, located in the heart of Prior Lake, a brilliant blend of a bakery, cafe, and wine bar. With a wide range of offerings, from coffees to pastries, sandwiches, desserts, and an enticing selection of wines and small plates, Edelweiss Bakery stands out as a unique spot in the local food scene.
I was lucky enough to share this experience with my mother and sister who were in town for my birthday. Our meal started with a croissant sandwich, filled with sausage, egg, and pepper jack cheese. This sandwich was more than just a meal, it was an experience. The croissant was perfectly baked - crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and the filling was rich and flavorful.
But the sandwich wasn't the only highlight. Edelweiss Bakery's granola, served over yogurt and berries, was another delight. The combination of crunchy granola, creamy yogurt, and fresh berries made for a refreshing and satisfying dish that perfectly rounded out our meal.
In conclusion, our visit to Edelweiss Bakery was an absolute delight. Their unique approach to food, combined with a warm and inviting atmosphere, sets them apart. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the whole place exudes a charm that adds to the overall dining experience. Edelweiss Bakery has truly left an impression, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience...
Read moreUnfortunately I can't go again to this place, even if I like the food and the personnel are nice. 3 times in a row I experience the same problem, I felt obliged to leave a review - let me elaborate. I went on Wednesday the 14th around 11am (Dec '22). We were 3 people and we had to wait about 10 mins to sit. There are 7 "big" tables for 4 or more people, ALL occupied by 1 or 2 people each. There were 3 "small" 2 people tables and all were empty. After waiting, we got that 1 big table, we had breakfast and left because we noticed people waiting; took us 15 mins. During that time only 1 of the 7 "big" tables was released. The largest table for up to 6 people was occupied by one person with a laptop. 2 other big tables were occupied as well by only one person. The other 4 big tables were occupied by 2 people each. So I wonder, to what extend it is acceptable to occupy a table for work or to have long conversations while other people can't use the tables? Why not use the 2 people tables if you are 1-2 people? Why there is no consideration which IMHO is abundant in MN? Can the restaurant enforce some policies of max idle time on a table (which I've seen in other restaurants)? Just thinking out loud some solutions here. This hurts the business as much as the customers, I'm afraid we are skipping this restaurant and it's possible other people feel the same....
