I find it really interesting that a majority of you who "Call Yourselves" a Local Guide have described this place (and others!), food & drinks in 12 words or less! WTH kind of advice is that for the public?! Seriously?! Anyway, It's not worth my compilation of complaints... I just hope they do a better job at descriptive write ups in the future so people fully understand where & what they are talking about! I have to admit if I could give the Prior Lake VFW 3 1/2 stars I would but decided to round down. And this is my "Review" for Monday Burger Nights ONLY!! Our family has been coming here for "Monday Burger Night" since I don't know when... Long before my youngest son did his tour in Afghanistan and served his country with honors. We don't always make it EVERY Monday but on average, roughly 2 times a month. I'll admit, you may stand in line for a bit, you may not, depending on what time of the evening you decide to show up. Monday Night Burger Night starts at 5:00 pm and runs until the last order is on or before 7:00 pm!! So keep an eye on your clock...err cell phone! And be sure to bring cash since it's either cash or check for the Burger Dinner! Basic Cheese Burger: $2.50 Fries or Tots: $1.50 Can of Pop: .75 cents Outside of standing in line to order your Burger Meal and buy some pop (soft drinks) if you want, there's the liquor line back at the bar. This is completely separate from your dinner (they take plastic). It's not that hard to figure out! In fact the two bartenders on duty behind that bar ..."IF"... They know who you are....Or know what regular you're hanging with.... they have a tendency to take care of you LONG BEFORE those that have been standing in line waiting to put their drink orders in! In fact this is the main reason why I docked our VFW! Those gals (yeah, being a guy helps too if you want a drink) that run the bar need to remember that Polite Service is Key!! In fact they need to take some time to get to know their Monday night customers, not chatting it up with their bar stool buzzards... My son served overseas, I wear an armed forces pin on my coat 24/7.... Has anyone that works there asked me about the pin I wear... No.... Am I disappointed... Yes! And this is a group who is desperate for VFW Members! Sadly the problem is that they are not reaching out to the younger Veterans and I don't understand why?!! You need to take care of EVERYONE who's "Been There, Done That" as a Veteran... My generation who served in the 1st Gulf War including the younger ones who still serve today! Now, let's get down to that Burger I was talking about!... I usually order the Single 1/4 lb. Patty Cheese Burger with Fried Onions & Tater Tots. It is a pre-frozen Patty served medium to medium well (no choice in burger size or cooking temp, but that's okay), it's still nice and juicy! There are several other burger options like the double decker and the choice of Tator Tots or French Fries, both are good! If you're not in the mood for Burgers they offer Hot Dogs or Brats served just the way you like! Along with the offerings of condiments such as; Heinz 57 Sauce, A1 Steak Sauce, Heinz Ketchup, Yellow Mustard, Mayo, Horse Radish & Raw Onions. It doesn't matter how "Decked Out" people get about what's on their beef or pork.... The Prior Lake VFW serves good burgers & brats on MONDAY NIGHT "BURGER NIGHT!" They also have meat raffles during Burger Night too! Hopefully you have the time to overlook the " Bar Serving" flaws to Support Our Men & Women of the Armed Forces who Really Matter when it comes to the U.S.A.!! We WILL BE BACK...... As usual.... We are...
Read moreVery welcoming place. Fun, great food, good music for dancing! Nice renovations. But a hazard area after dinner when table changes occurred for dancing. To open up the dance area, they take a few tables out. If there is a fire or heaven, forbid a person with a gun. People are blocked and have to go around several tables to go back then around. They cutting off an area by long-gating several tables together in front of them. Taking more time to exit during an emergency. I noticed the renovations also took out the exit door in that area. Leaving that area a hazard during emergency evacuation. Of course, this is just my opinion. I will not sit in that area anymore, and I will encourage my friends not to sit in that area during...
Read moreI take my 90 year old mother and my wife out for fish dinners through lent on Friday's. Went to there fish fry today 3/8/2024. The newly remodeled building is awesome and the service was excellent. But the fish was terrible. It was like eating cod jerky dry and you could hardly eat it , we had 3 large pieces could only eat 2 after picking the dried up fish and breading apart. Didn't want to take leftovers home none of us. The salad bar was tops though. I don't know about the rest of the menu but do not go there for the cod dinner on Friday's. P.S iam Scandinavian so it's not like me to ditch fish but these really sucked. It was like the fish was made way in advanced and sat under a heat...
