We’ve been exploring local spots we hadn’t tried yet, and Arata Sushi in Prospect definitely made the “we’ll be back” list. Cozy atmosphere, attentive service, and a menu that’s just the right size — not overwhelming, but full of tempting options.
We started with the gyoza, and wow — perfectly crispy edges with a tender, flavorful filling. Not greasy at all, and served piping hot. They disappeared fast.
Next up, a sushi staple: the California Roll. Simple, yes — but Arata nails the freshness. Cool cucumber crunch, creamy avocado, and real crab flavor (not that overly sweet imitation stuff some places sneak in). A great balance and tightly rolled, which sushi lovers will appreciate.
But the star of the night? The chocolate torte cake. Rich, decadent, and so smooth it felt like it should’ve been served with a warning. A must-order even if you “don’t do dessert.”
All in all, Arata is a gem hiding in plain sight. If you’re local and haven’t tried it yet, this...
Read moreThis place does both custom Teas and Sushi. Go hungry and in the mood for new. They can seem a bit pricey but trust me it is worth it. The food quality, something VERY important to me when eating sushi was outstanding. Fresh, cold cuts of all types. There was not one piece that didn't deliver. We did their $30 tray and a roll to go with and the value was incredible. This coupled with a vanilla/rum tea made for a great meal without any one thing over powering another. The service was excellent and we never had to wait on them. Our slowest point of the meal was trying to decide between all of their unique options. I will definitely be back. Again they're not a discount place. This is where you take someone to introduce them to the wonders...
Read moreI’m really disappointed with our experience at this place. Close to our house, my husband and I went out on a date night to celebrate my 40th birthday. There were only 3 tables and one server. It took 25 mins for him to come over and take our drink orders. He seemed to be more concerned with taking the carry out orders than waiting on the guests in the restaurant. When we finally got our sushi it was good. However when our check came, the sushi was all more expensive than the menu prices. One roll was $4 more than advertised. When I said something to the server, he said, ‘oh my bad I was supposed to tell tables our prices went up.’ I understanding having to raise your prices, but fix your menu before...
