I went there for the first and last time today. I called for a pickup order when I was in Bridgeport at 4:30 on a Friday night. They told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. Anybody who's made that drive know it takes more than 30 minutes so I figured the food will be ready when I got there. I arrived 45 minutes after my call. I went inside gave him my name they asked me to pay the bill which I did. Then they told me it would be ready in 10 more minutes. I waited for 10 minutes and it wasn't ready. At this point the lunatic from the liquor store next door came in to complain that I was parked in one of his spaces. The parking lot covers off for businesses in the strip mall so it wasn't his space it was just near his door.
He then walks back into the kitchen area even though he's not an employee of the pizza place to try to complain to them. Remember I was legally parked in the parking lot. Not wanting to cause any more trouble I asked when my food would be ready. At the time I had two small very hungry children with me. has 1 hour and 5 minutes after initial call I ask for a refund because the food was still not ready meanwhile the guy working at the liquor store is he yelling at me in front of the kids. At that point I decided to forget about the food and walked up to the car with the kids with the liquor store person yelling at me the whole way. The person that works at the liquor store was verbally abusive using swear swear words and obscene gestures at me even though he could see I was with two small children.
I told him he was acting like a jerk and was not a nice person. The kids were getting very scared at this point and wete trying to hid in the car while this lunatic was screaming at us.
At this point one of the pizza employees brought out the food asnd we left.1 hour and 5 minutes after i placed the order.
When we got home, 2 min drive, the food was cold. The pizza was so bad the kids would not eat it. It was like runny cardboard. The calzone, cold, was supposed to have sausage in it. It was hard to find. Even after heating it in the microwave oven it wasn't very good.
So i made mac and cheese for the kids and threw the food out.
I hope the liquer store guy...
Read moreWent here for the first time based on this place winning best pizzeria in the area. I can honestly say this was the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life. Now it was 4th of July weekend, and because of that, the service was very slow, but that can be expected, so no big deal. But I can overlook that for good food. I ordered a gluten free pizza (I have a wheat allergy) and my husband ordered a regular pizza. When our food finally arrived, my pizza just looked unappetizing. But looks can be deceiving, so I gave it a chance. It made me gag from the first bite. It was somehow undercooked, with cold sauce and congealed cheese. Now, before people say no gluten free pizza is good, I have had many very good gluten free pizzas in the area. Luna Pizza in Naugatuck and Modern in New Haven for example. But this was inedible. I took a few more bites just to see if I was not giving it a chance, but no. It was vile. My husband said his pizza was ok, but I had him take a bite of mine just to make sure it wasn’t just me. He took a bite and also gagged. School lunch pizzas tasted better than this. When the waitress asked how our food was, we let her know that the pizza was inedible. She just said “oh, it’s the gluten free crust.” Ok, then why was the tasteless sauce and congealed cheese bad as well? We had to have her take the entire pizza away, because this is something I wouldn’t have even fed to my dogs. We reiterated a second time, that my pizza was inedible. She said sorry and we were still charged for food that neither of us could eat. I’m not one to ask for a refund on something I don’t like, I’ll usually chalk it up to it was to my preference. This was just inedible. But glad I got to pay for inedible garbage. Again, my husband said his pizza was okay, but we will never be returning here. I don’t know if they were having an off day, but serving what seemed to be microwaved pizza to people is...
Read moreAs a new resident to Prospect and a professional who is big on first impressions, I will never visit this restaurant again. I came in with my daughter for a mother and daughter night, got seated and never saw anyone again after that. We waited 45 minutes at our table, no one came to greet us, ask us if we wanted water or any other drinks. I have a young child with me so I am not sure how they’d even think that’s acceptable. We ended up leaving. Not even at the busiest restaurants around the world are you not quickly asked what you’d like to drink once you are seated at your table. We ended up going down the street to Hometown Pizza where they greet you and immediately ask if you’d like something to drink. I will continue to order from hometown because I believe that good businesses/customer service are places worth spending money. And politeness at a restaurant goes a long way. With that being said, Napoletana will never get a $1 from me, I don’t care how good people say the food is.
This was not an advertisement for Hometown Pizza, I was just pointing out the difference in service between the two places. And if that’s all you took out of my review, then that is unfortunate. I am a very busy person, so if I write a review it is because I was really bothered by something. I won’t return but your staff should be more mindful of how they are treating every customer no matter how busy...
