Thank you for your prompt response to attempt to make things right. But in reality, if there was any management that day, they should have come to the table and ask how things were since you had only had two tables occupied in the entire place. Adjusting the 2 dollars for the uneaten disguising fries was your establishments only response to a horrible meal? Seriously? And the simple fact that I had to ask for that bill adjustment was shameful and I was embarrassed to even ask but it was a matter of principle as I explained to the server as she looked at my plate of uneaten burned food. My lunch guest left before the bill came because she did not know how to respond, did not want to complain, and would rather leave and never return. It was an embarrassment. All wrong. We went out to lunch again today, and for the same money I paid for the horrible lunch at your place, we had a delicious lunch. I'm more interested in your response to speak to the staff and ask your kitchen how could they even plate two meals like that and serve them to people whom come for the food? What was their response or excuse? A Kitchen Nightmare story. Of course they remember us since we were the only couple there. We left hungry. There is no way to send a personal response to you as you suggested to make amends. But the fact is that having to complain was something that I did want to do nor was comfortable with. You ruined our lunch and embarrass me to write about it. I gave you my full name and explained that I worked and lived in Town for over forty years. You can find me to...
Read moreThis was my first experience at The Kitchen in Prospect, and I have to say it was quite pleasant! Even though it was quite busy, we came into a warm welcome, and quick service. They took our drink orders immediately and provided a carafe of water for the table.
As far as the food goes, we tried the Pork Belly small plate and that was FANTASTIC! It was cooked perfectly, with a slightly crisp skin, while the meat as juicy and was easily cut with a butter knife. The portion was enough for 2 people, and could have easily been an entree.
For the entrees, we ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese, and the Kitchen Burger. The lobster ma and cheese was by far the best I've had in Connecticut so far. It had a perfect panko crust, and was seasoned perfectly! The portion was substantial enough, where I couldn't finish it in one sitting. The Kitchen Burger was quite a substantial portion as well, with the flavor combinations of the egg, avocado, and peppered bacon, working well together in an unexpected way. They loaded the plate with hand-cut fries, which were good, but I prefer my fries on a crispier level.
Overall, I 100% recommend giving them a try! Great services, good portion size, and great food...
Read moreI regret to say that our recent visit was god awful, a stark contrast to previous experiences.
Firstly, we were charged $2 for a sandwich bun roll when we asked for bread for the kids before our meal. I ordered a Cobb salad which came with an avocado spread instead of fresh avocado, leaving me confused on how to use it. Additionally, it had spring mix instead of the usual ingredients and tasted like it had canned diced tomatoes. I requested grilled chicken, but what arrived was the thinnest, saddest piece of chicken I’ve ever seen. After two bites, I sent it back and received no alternative option or apology, yet it still appeared on our check. No manager ever approached us to address the issue.
My husband and father-in-law ordered the short rib, which they’ve enjoyed before, but this time it was utterly flavorless and in dire need of salt. The fish dish appeared soggy, and the salmon pasta was excessively salty.
The service compounded our dissatisfaction; our waitress seemed indifferent to our displeasure.
Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. We will not be dining here again and recommend finding another place to eat if you’re...
