Hometown Pizza Of Prospect — Restaurant in Prospect

Finally tried Hometown in its new location for lunch. Arrived prior to lunch rush. 3 servers standing around the front desk. Took our seat and it took an additional 5 minutes before we were given menus or asked what we wanted to drink. The server didn't introduce herself. My husband asked what was in one of the wraps and the waitress couldn't give him an answer and didn't offer to find out. The order came and there was a chip on the plate and my husband asked what they were made of, the waitress couldn't give him an answer. Food was very good. As we sat there, we watched all of the servers on their cell phones. We had to wait until our server came over to get take home boxes for the leftovers. When my husband went up to pay, the young lady didn't acknowledge him and all she said was "card" as she gave him back his credit card. Why is it so hard to get good service these days??? My first time ever and what a terrible experience. I will not be returning. They need to figure out a better system. Yes, I know it was a busy time but come on. Take out pick up and people waiting to be seated are all at the front door. The line was out the door. No rhyme or reason who was taken care of first. People cutting in line because they have no idea how it all works. To get pick up the counter person has to leave the counter, walk across the restaurant, ask someone for the pizza, confirm it is the right one, walk back, and find the person whose pizza it is. There are two other areas where I could see where take out pick up would work so much better. What about right where the counter person was getting the food. Put a register there. Have take out use the side entrance. This is idiotic. I was like I just want to pick up a pizza. Why do I have to wait 15 minutes for a cold pie! I rather go to...

10/20/25: I have upped this review to 2 stars as I was refunded $29 (out of $101). Better than nothing, I guess.

10/10/25: Ordered delivery last night but did not receive part of order (chef salad - not cheap). Called back and was told they would deliver the missing salad. Never received the missing salad. Called back the next day to get a refund for the missing salad and was told they would give me a credit toward my next order. I refused this offer as I no longer intend on ordering from Hometown in Prospect. What food did get delivered was not that good.
