La Braza Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Providence

Came here for my homegirls birthday, i came a little late but the Vibes were ok. music is NOT versatile. Only spanish music, old spanish and new spanish but other than that you won't hear much of english music . I'm dominican so I really didn't mind but I had friends who werent spanish who didn't care so much for the music after hearing spanish songs back to back . The food is really in between trash and subpar depending on what you order , the prices were overpriced for the service . They only had mint and blueberry for hooka flavors , the girl serving us was the only good thing although she was busy she made sure we were straight and the bodyguard was very respectful and lit af too, loved him ! . our reserved seats were right next to the door next to the security guard which was also a let down but w.e we loved him .but the tip is already included in the check which we didnt like at all . We were gonna leave a big tip but since we paid separate and everyone was charged a tip on their bill we didn't leave one since because it was a party of 6, and 2 people left after only staying an hour and not buying anything , since it was a reserved birthday party . I won't be back, spent 120 just for MYSELF for food I didn't event like or eat, i didnt even buy anything to drink only a hooka which they didnt even have the flavor i wanted and they added a tip outta no where which was quadrupled since we was all paying separate among the 4 of the 6 of us .. so my meal and hooka that was 80 bucks turnt to 120 after the tip that they already include in your bill lol yeah no .. I have no problem spending money but not in places as subpar as this . I should've spent 80 bucks and and I would've left a 20 for tip . 100 bucks total .. they charges me 40 bucks in tips ??? Like the food was trash and the service was ok but not 40...

The food tastes great and authentic But VERY, VERY expensive. A simple mofongo made of smashed plantains and small pieces of pork accompanied with chicken or shrimp and a soda can will cost you around $34. Their prices are not consistent with the area because they are not located in downtown Providence, where everything is expensive due to the elite area, but in a poor spanish community. And by the way, the gratuity is included automatically regardless of service. Very disappointed! Also, the inside appearance is more like a dance area where everything is black, ceiling, walls, floor, tables, chairs, etc. with a huge screen on the wall...

Came here to pick up food. There is no take out menu so I just ordered a chicken mofongo from their in house menu for $20. I was then charged $26+tax. When inquired I was told they increased prices. The food is (7 out of 10) good but for the portion and price I definitely would not come back. To raise the price $6 and not inform the customer beforehand for a dish made with thin strips of chicken and plantain is pretty outrageous. I'd like to support small businesses but it's hard to when you can't comfortably pay for their new...
