The most delicious steak burritos I have eaten so far. 5 stars without a doubt. I always have them add rice and avocado to the burritos and limes on the side for some extra goodness. The extras will cost you a bit but they will make the burritos the most delicous thing around. Add some Horchata and you are set. I've eaten at least 75 burritos from this place since I started going there about 2 years ago. I have eaten other food from there such as sopes (very delicious as well). Their carnitas are pretty good but I've always felt that their steak is the most delicious item on the menu. Their barbacoa and chorizo are a bit bland so I try to stay away from those two. Their chicken burritos are also pretty decent if you're not into steak or pork. They make some pretty yummy huaraches and tortas. I've brought many friends to this place and they have absolutely loved it! Do go here if your hungry instead of going to the McDonalds or Burger King. You will end up paying the same amount but will have tales of the most delicious mexican fast food to tell to your friends and family.
Lastly, what I love the most about this place is that you can watch them make your food through a large glass. You can hear the steak sizzling on the hot steel surface as they prep everyone's food. This place is very busy during lunch time and they close at 6, sometimes earlier if its slow, rarely later than 6 if its freaky busy. They are closed on mondays. I've learned that the hard way...
Read moreUmm… okay so it’s a little complicated! I’d give it a 3.5 or 3.75 because the food is good. But… The food is really good. The salsas are fabulous (especially the red one- nice & spicy) The location isn’t perfect (it’s a busy intersection & God forbid you get stuck at the train tracks on the other side of the restaurant) The place itself is small but they do offer dine in & there is one bathroom; it unisex but clean!
We’ve had carnitas, tacos, rice, beans, huaraches, sopes & gorditas with different meats. Our favorites are Asada, al pastor & lengua.
This location is their 2nd location. Their first and main location is in Melrose Park off of Lake St & 25th Ave & it is considerably bigger.
Only once have we had a bad experience where the rice and salsa were inedible- unless you prefer to only taste garlic in your food!
We often order carnitas for parties from here. Always consistently good.
Maybe try their main location first 😂. Though I don’t think they offer things like...
Read moreWhen you think of your favorite foods to eat, I think tacos rank around number 2 next to pizza. I visited this place a month ago while working in the neighborhood. I thought i'd give them a try since I love tacos so much.
I tried the lengua, barbacoa, and carnitas taco and I was instantly hooked. The lengua was tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I've never been to mexico in my life, but after one bite, I felt as if I was there for that moment. The carnitas was so juicy and flavorful also. It was like a celebration of flavor on my palate.
Then the barbacoa taco took my taste buds to places i've never been before, it felt like the Star Trek of tacos.
So if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend this place. It's reasonably price, the staff is friendly, and there's no long waiting. Be sure to try the horchata also, it's one of the...
