Bertollis River Pizza — Restaurant in River Forest

Okay we each separately called this place on a Sunday. After reading the comments and reviews on Google we thought we would give it a try. We thought we would dine in then walk off the calories but when we each called separately we both got the impression that we were not welcome and that he was much too busy for us. A pizza place who has been established since 1934 can’t handle a party of two people. Interesting. 🤨 You are much too busy for us. How disappointing. I ended up hanging up the phone cause I just couldn’t listen to the egotistical clown who answered the phone 📞. The guy had zero class and failed to handle potential new customers. The ever bragging bigshot on YouTube couldn’t handle two people. Lmao!! 🤣 Hilarious 😆!!!! We ended up heading to Chicago’s famous Roberts pizza 🍕 and it did not disappoint! It was super busy as usual but they managed to seat us dockside and we had a perfect view of Navy pier!!!! Unfortunately we cannot recommend this place. I tried giving him a second chance to invite us over and realize his mistake but that never happened. I will NEVER 👎 give this establishment any of my business now or in the future!!! I placed an order at 6:15 for one large pizza for a staff meeting I organized. I was told the pizza would be delivered by 7. I called around 715 for an update because the order hadn’t came and I didn’t receive a call back. The person I spoke with said it would be an additional 30 minutes. I obliged and waited. After waiting another 30 minutes and no pizza in sight , I called again to check on the status of my order and the person I spoke with was very unruly. I tried to express my concerns regarding the poor communication skills and was continuously cut off by the person on the phone. They gave me so much attitude and wouldn’t even let me get a word in so I hung up. I didn’t receive my pizza until 8:15. By this time the staff meeting was over. All of my employees were gone for the day. They also didn’t give any cheese, crushed red peppers, or napkins and I did request those items. The lack of communication and constant incorrect information being told to me is completely unacceptable. I don’t plan on ordering from this location again. And I wouldn’t advise anyone...

We drive 45 mins to get this pizza, and this is our favorite pizza. Unfortunately last time I called, someone left me on hold for 4-5 minutes. Then they answered and asked “you’re still here?” And I said “yess!” And got hung up on. Then I called back because maybe they didn’t hear me since they clicked so soon, and said that I’m calling to get a carry out. A guy rudely said “hurry up, make it quick, I have a lot of customers. Let’s go!” This was on speaker as my family and I we were 20 minutes into driving. I was shocked, but politely told them, “Mmm no thank you” & hung up. I was being polite throughout the whole time, and I’m unsure why I didn’t get it back. Been following them on all social media’s so I can get ideas what to order, but unfortunately that really pushed our family away as we been with Bertolli’s pizza over 4 years, and travel time was not something we cared for. Great pizza though, highly recommend. Maybe customer service could be worked out. We are why your business is booming! If you’re busy, be happy that you’re busy as so many people support...
