Pumpkins Place — Restaurant in Proviso Township

How does this place pass inspections 🤔 I paid over $40 for nothing but turkey tips🥴 I wasn’t gonna say nothing but I had some major concerns 🤷‍♂️ I don’t see how this business still standing. Food is below adverage but this place is nasty like filthy nasty! The owner wipes his hands on apron and constantly touches the food, answering phones, and worst off TOUCHING MONEY 🤢 the guy who prep the food is messy asl everything is spilling all on the bags. The floors are nasty haven’t been mopped in years. Dust balls literally hangs from the ceiling and vent shafts covered in dust! The fryers are very old and unsanitary! The grease even looks old asl! Collard greens taste like white folk cooked them no seasoning straight out the can! Macaroni cheese was gooey like powder cheese was used! Yams were OK, small wings good with sauce, fried cat was good, them other wings way too big! And the hot links need to cook longer still pink inside but it’s hidden by the sauce. Wings big asl but tha Turkey tips n yams a 💣 Hate to say it but they need to be audited so they can clean that place up. Pumpkin's Place is in the heart of Maywood. The atmosphere is what is expected of a carry-out neighborhood "joint". However, the food is great! The Turkey Tips, Rib Tips and chicken wings are so quite delicious. The meat is seasoned well, then the amazing BBQ sauce makes this one of the best places for BBQ. I've never tried the sides because they don't look appetizing, but I did have the cobbler once. Surprisingly it was good. I say that because restaurant cobbler is usually unremarkable. The only downside is that it closes at 5 p.m. and the tips are usually sold out early. The great thing is it's open on Sundays so I can get my meats right...

I had the Jumbo Honey Wings yesterday at my Pastors home. I had never heard of Pumpkins!!! I was telling my one of my daughters about them and she had actually eaten from there before. I went there today and I picked her up the wings and ordered myself a 3pc.dark. I got home and I had white meat,with very little sauce!!!!! I couldn't go back since my other daughter had the car to go to work!!!! Very dissatisfied!!!!
