Lickle Jamaica — Restaurant in Proviso Township

Ive always enjoyed the food, and I recognize they are slow but that is the case with many Jamaican restaurants. However today pretty much sealed I won't be back. Ordered oxtail, salmon, and a rib/chicken combo each with 3 sides at 6:15p--totalling about $85. They close at 8. I arrived at 7:05 to a long line. When I get to the register to pick up food, not only was it not ready, but they were out of all sides except greens, yams, and cabbage. I was very annoyed but really looking forward to my meal so they agreed to give me beef patties in exchange for the FOUR sides I would not be getting. Im told it'll about another 10 min. 40 minutes later I am told that they are now out of rib tips and did I want oxtail or catfish. Not only was I not able to get the food I ordered 90 minutes prior and waited for, when I requested a refund I was told they couldn't do it since it was past 15 min from my order time. I proceed to wait for my other meals, and while I am waiting another customer goes to the counter because they canceled his order while he was sitting there. He had been there as long as I had been--they cancelled his order when they couldn't fulfill it, but had told me they couldn't do the same for me. I arrived home at 8:15, 2 hours after my order and unsatisfied. There's no one to complain to because the owner was already there and fully aware. I try my best to order where I can get good quality food. Because times are just too hard to waste money and the food is literally terrible. On Saturday the 28th of June, I experienced the worst choice ever made. I literally should’ve went to Churchs and got a box of chicken and mashed potato. We ordered two dinners from here while I got my nails done in the shop and it was terrible. Literally the ribs didn’t taste like jerk they tasted burnt like they had been rewarmed and dried out. The red beans and rice tasted like literally beans from the dollar store and rice from the dollar store. Popeyes red beans and rice is way better. I would’ve did a side of theirs if I knew that this restaurant didn’t have quality sides. They made a mistake and put yams on my plate which I hate. Sent my boyfriend back they gave another side without removing the yams so I was pissed. I tried to make it through and just taste it and see how it was with the cabbage and macaroni. The macaroni tasted like the bowl from right across the street at the gas station. Not only that but the cabbage was the only thing half decent. But that was under them burnt ribs and by the time I lifted it up it was flat as hell and soggy cause now I didn't even want the food no more. My boyfriend asked me nicely please not to go back cause he know how I am about my food and wasting money. That’s almost 53 damn dollars wasted on two meals. So we drove all the way from Schaumburg Illinois to try this. First of all before we get to the restaurant that we decided to go to We decided to call because they said that it was so busy we could not call this restaurant because they said when we got there that the Wi-Fi was not working, so my cousin insist on ordering from this place , so we placed that order and lo and behold we could not use our credit cards. Cash only. So after we placed our order we had to drive 2 miles to get cash. by the way, I’m still pissed so we get back pick up our food drive all the way back home we should have checked the food before we left , because it looked horrible. The food didn’t taste like anything special so we end up leaving the rest in the container.
