Seems super expensive for what you get, $9.00 for a few scoops of hard vanilla ice cream and a bottle of root beer. We got there before the rest of our group and there was no one else there, within minutes friends of the employees were taking up all the remaining parking spots so some of our friends had to park across the street. We walked up to order and one of the girls was talking loudly to her friend though the side window while we were ordering from a different girl then a random group of guys walked in the back as well. The girl taking our order says to the other girl "yah everytime my friends come it gets super busy too so I never get to talk to my friends". The tables were FILTHY, I went to ask one of the girls if they had something to clean off the tables and they handed me paper napkins and I told them that every table was gross and needed to be wiped down, a paper napkin wasnt going to cut it. One girl came out with cleaner in a bottle and a dry rag and proceeded to spray this nasty cleaner while we were all sitting there and she wiped off like 2 things and said the table was just "stained". The pictures on this review are from AFTER she wiped it off. One of the people in our group ordered a strawberries and cream, we were almost done with ours and we still hadn't gotten the strawberry one so we asked at the window (it had been over 10 minutes) and they said they forgot and would make it now, meanwhile the group of guys who went inside the place come walking out with their floats-one of which was a strawberries and cream. During this entire time friends of the employees are coming up to the windows and chatting with the employees and all the employees are sitting in there on their phones. Some more boys showed up and took the girls (that were working) on rides on their moped thing down the street and they were all out in the parking lot having a good chat. Absolutely wild. Trash is overflowing, tables are sticky and filthy concrete is sticky with spills but none of the girls working can be bothered. There's 4 parking spaces total, one is handicap accessible. There is a drive thru and 3 round picnic tables in the front. Bring Clorox wipes if you plan to eat yours there. It's also super loud with the traffic which isn't the establishments fault but it was very hard to have conversations. I get that it is hard to employ teenagers and to trust them but the absolute level of disrespect these kids have towards the people they work for is crazy. I don't think we will go back simply because of how dirty everything was and how distracted the employees were, I shouldnt feel like im interrupting girl talk to ask for my order. I truly hope the owners are able to find reliable, good help or have some more training and that these issues...
Read moreThis is more of a gourmet float place than a regular root beer float place. The least expense float was a small at $9 ( maybe 14-16 ounce cup), medium $13 and a large was even more. We tried 4 different small floats flavors. None were great. All were ok, but how can you go all that wrong with the vanilla ice cream and a float. No one was in line ahead of us and it still took 10 min to get our order, but we sat outside on some cute tables near the street and the atmosphere was nice. Everyone else had a chilled root beer bottle or specialty drink in a bottle, but mine was warm and I am sure that it did not help the average float for a really high price tag. I won’t be going back for a $9 float that was just ok. Cute building and atmosphere though. Vanilla ice cream and root beer at a $5 price would probably have won me over, but I guess that I am priced out of another thing...
Read moreYou'd think this would be a no brainer, but instead of getting a root beer float, what you get instead is a kit with bottled root beer and ice cream that you're supposed to mix yourself. Which, lemme tell you, is a genius idea for a drive through, because not only does it fill every available cup holder in my truck in no time flat, but few things are more enjoyable than mixing your own float while you're driving.
All in all, seems like a decent experience that could be replicated in a gas station for a fraction of the price.
I'm sorry, but wouldn't it make much more sense and be much cheaper and more satisfying to have a fountain with a variety of sodas and a handful of different ice creams? Then worry about all the churro and cookie nonsense on the side for everyone going to the root beer float business for anything...
