LA CATRINA MEXICAN GRILL — Restaurant in Provo

This place is waay better than pollo royo (sorry not sorry). If you want some bomb tacos that are only $1.50, this is the place to go. Kinda lacking in the meat selection, but currently it's Asada, barbacoa, carnitas, chicken and chorizo. What about al pastor??? The cuts of meat might be on the cheaper side, but it's still way good. Asada is good, nothing too fancy. Barbacoa is probably my favorite! Carnitas is crispy and savory. Not at all stringy or flavorless like other taco shops. Haven't tried the chicken. Chorizo is decent, I wish it was spicier. Go after 1:20pm when all the Timpview kids are gone. Oh! The Gringas are way good for 50 cents extra. It's tacos served hot with melty cheese!!!!! I haven't tried anything else on the menu, but I assume it's also good. I would post a pic of my tacos, but I already ate them! lol The owners are way nice and pretty fast too. P.s. I wish their red hot sauce...

I feel bad giving a bad review because so many people said the owner is really sweet. I ordered this for delivery because I have a broken foot. Let me preface this by letting you know I grew up in San Antonio and LOVE Mexican food. This was my b-day present to myself. I was really looking forward to it!!! It's the worse Mexican food I've ever had. The tortillas on the enchiladas were coated in a thick layer of chile powder. Also I ordered red sauce. They came with green. I only had 4 bites and had to force myself to eat those. 😔 They had 2 sizes of tacos on the menu with a 20 cent different in price. I got one of each. They were exactly the same. Oh my goodness! Yesterday my husband suggested we try this new place, I was not hungry but went along anyways. Sooo glad I did! I ordered a fish taco and an asada plate, my husband ordered a street taco and a Chimichanga. How good was the food? Sooo good...that we went back tonight and this time I ordered 2 fish tacos and my husband ordered 4 street tacos. The fish tacos are deliciosos. The fish has the lightest crispy crust😍and the sauces they cover it with compliments it sooo well. New favorite! For the street tacos they have all types of salsas you add as you like. My husband tried each one and liked them all. He also really liked the Chimichanga. And the asada plate was very tasty! I wish this place a looong run because I believe I will be craving the tacos...
