To Whom It May Concern,
My husband and I have been frequent visitors to South Fork, and we’ve always enjoyed the food and drinks. We chose to visit again today with our pup, but unfortunately, we experienced an issue with the coffee that I would like to address.
As a coffee enthusiast with experience working in establishments that serve coffee both in the U.S. and Europe (I'm originally from Croatia), I am very familiar with the quality and preparation of coffee. I ordered a latte with almond milk, but upon tasting it, I noticed a sour flavor, which is typically a sign that the milk is expired. I brought this to the attention of the staff and asked for a replacement. The new coffee, however, was so watered down that it tasted more like water than coffee. When I mentioned this, the staff member insisted that this was the way it was prepared and offered me tea as an alternative, which I declined.
I then had my husband try the coffee, and he agreed with my assessment. He returned the coffee to the staff and mentioned to me later that the issue was likely with the half-and-half, which had become diluted from sitting outside after being refrigerated, and possibly expired milk.
Before leaving, I spoke with the staff member to share our feedback. Unfortunately, she denied that there was any issue with the coffee, claiming that everything they use is fresh. She then offered a refund, which I declined because my intention was not to receive a refund but to ensure that this issue was addressed for the benefit of future customers. The staff member also stated that we were the only ones who had complained, but my husband overheard a coworker mention that others had also expressed dissatisfaction with the coffee.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as we’ve always enjoyed our visits and would love to continue doing so in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this...
Read moreEXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, WOULD GIVE NO STARS IF POSSIBLE. Sat at the bar tonight and ordered a drink and food. Waited 10 minutes after ordering before the waitress who stated she was also the assisted manager came back and asked me what I would like to drink. She realized I had already ordered and said that's right a Diet Coke. A guy then sat down next to me and ordered a beer and a burger. Ten minutes later he then ordered another beer when he got his burger. Same waitress said your food should be right up and gave me a set of silverware. Twenty minutes later minutes later she comes and tells me she forgot to put my order in and would I prefer it to go. I said I would rather not wait any longer and said just the Diet Coke I guess. Basic customer service would be to say no charge for the soda but she proceeds to charge me the $3.24 for it. I ask to speak to the manager and she states unfortunately she is the manager tonight. I asked for a way to contact the owner. She then goes to the back and brings out the "other" manager and I explain the situation and she proceeds to offer to ring me up for my order to go. At this time I had been in the restaurant for over 45 minutes. I said no thank you and was still charged for my Diet Coke. What a joke of a place for customer service. The food is actually really good as I have ate here several times before but I will most likely never return and will highly recommend against eating there to...
Read moreUpdate: seems things are improving here. The remodeled bar seating area now has wood panels, so no more gobby "touch ups". Food also seems to be better in that it has more flavor (pesto pasta salad was bland before, but has discernable pesto now). Overall, I really like the improvements.
Original: I wish this place was better than it is. Loved it when I first came to Pullman, but after being poisoned by the wagyu burger (it's not on the menu anymore), I stopped going for about two years. Have been back twice in the past four months due to friends wanting to eat here. While the food's improved, other aspects have declined. In the bar seating area, it'd probably be a good idea to install a chair rail so that the tables and chairs don't gouge the drywall (the "touch ups" look like smeared feces. Also, wash the walls periodically. There were gobs of dry, crusted food splattered on the wall behind my chair. Cleanliness aside, I'm still confused how a table of cooked food (burgers, chicken salad, etc.) can make it all successfully to the table before a basic salad was served (I ordered no-frills just to keep it easy and had to ask where my salad was when the waitress served everyone else in the party and then asked if there was anything else she could bring). With a good clean and bit of staff training, this place could be...
