Purcellville Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Purcellville

I went here a couple of weeks ago and it was a pretty miserable experience. I ordered fried chicken, and they didn't have it. So then I tried to order something else. They didn't have that either. So I ended up with a really sad steak. I had ordered fries, I got potato cubes. Nothing was seasoned at all and it was so meh I couldn't finish it. That would've been fine though if it weren't for the behavior of the staff. They were nice enough to us, but we saw a sweet-looking older gentleman come in and sit down a few minutes after we did. One of the waitresses, who was leaving our table, went to him and told him they were closing and that he had to leave. She told him this multiple times in a rather rude tone of voice. We were horrified by this behavior. They weren't closing for another 15 minutes. It would've taken less time than that for them to go into the kitchen and microwave him some sub-par food. I will never be returning...

It was lunch time and we were hungry. Walking down Main Street, we noticed a party of 4 just leaving the restaurant. We asked them how everything was. Their response had us opening the door to this quaint little family venture. Definitely not disappointed (except that they changed from Coke to Pepsi products!). A classic club w/fries and a hot turkey sandwich with lots of gravy and fries were the choice for lunch. Huge portions! I've been craving a hot turkey sandwich from a diner for months! The fries with gravy were delicious. No ketchup needed today! Sadly, the food did get cold before I was ready to stop eating but I did some serious damage to that plate! The lady when we came in told us to sit anywhere. Then she took our order. After that we never saw her again. Another guy dropped off our food and then we never saw him again. No one ever checked on us. We had to go to the front twice, once ask for drinks and once for condiments. Then after we paid we left. My wife told me to make sure to shut the door behind me because it doesn’t close on its own. Just as I turned around, the lady that sat us and took our order come barging out and slams the front door as I’m reaching for it. Even though the service sucked I still tipped 15%.
