As a 20 year owner operator of (in a small town with a tourist season) coffee shop, roastry and pastry establishment. I found relaxing, inviting heaven in my new home of Purcellville, VA. The pleasant and engaging people employed at this establishment are a treasure to behold. They are an inviting true microcosim of this towns friendly southern hospitality this Arctic boy has come to love. It envigorated my expectations standing in the human space dedicated to building relationships and holding up humans as our best resource. All tantilizing my desire for a delicious cup of coffee. With knowing delight I observed the care with which the young human steamed the milk, not over-cooking it, not destroying its natural sugars, and then the shot was pulled with perfect timing, around 23 seconds. It was a marriage of understanding complex chemistry and timing of coffee brewing (ala Dr. Illy) with Chef de Cuisine like skills of combining the perfectly prepared ingredients (milk). I was introduced to my new, if not fleeting love, my own perfectly garnished, with teared leaf design in foam, coffee by a smilling warm friendly customer service oriented bright young human. It was as complex in its taste as a fine wine, introduced after the complexities of nature's hand in growing and the skilled love of the warm personality of the humans that have prepared it. As far as coffee shops go, this is THE PLACE! I enjoy coming here and relaxing... Sometimes with my work laptop and sometimes to chat with the locals. Doppio is quite the diverse atmosphere and welcoming to ALL (even me - a retired bearded government security professional). Work-from-homers, Moms, students, and wanderers fill the corners with buzz and keyboard clicks. The music blends in with a touch of select decor, vintage clothing for sale, and pottery, paintings, and other creations by local Loudoun County Artists. Play chess, grab a hard-to-find book to read, or simply enjoy sipping the brews. The food is VERY good and their Sami's are well-priced. Ive always been a huge coffee drinker, I’ve worked in shops myself and have tried hundreds of ways to make the perfect coffee. Different beans/roasts, different milks, different flavors, hot/cold. Lately, coffee hasn’t excited me all that much and I’ve almost stopped drinking it.

I was in the lot this afternoon and decided to stop in. I ordered an Iced Maple Latte that was so good it startled me. I had to turn around and go back in the store to tell the staff how incredible it was. I actually think it was the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life. It was so smooth, not too sweet and not too milky either, but still had a wonderful rich flavor. The maple flavoring wasn’t overpowering at all. It was just so well balanced.
