Best place around for ice cream and delicious food. Not to mention the best homemade chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks there are, literally anywhere!!! The owner is such a kind gentleman and makes his employees work hard and drills into them that it's all about customer service. I've seen him correct his staff more than once Making them clean, to not keep customers waiting at the window for more than a min or so and makes them add more ice cream to the cups as He's always " hooking everyone up" lol 😁🥰😍 He's definitely not cheap about his products. The quality is high and service is quick!! We go several times a week esp for the delicious huge ice creams. His staff also goes above and beyond, I've been on crutches for over a year now and they always offer to help me bring my food & drinks to my car as I have trouble and have to make several trips back n forth, but they always offer to help no matter how busy they are. Family friendly, affordable, and best food around. Highly recommend and I'm very very picky about my food and I'd give 10 stars if I could!!! Called in order for 5 milkshakes at 1:37 they said 20 minutes it would be ready. I arrived at about 2:00 went up to the pick up line to check to see if it was ready they hadn’t even started. They supposedly was starting it then, waited another 15 minutes they still didn’t even start! Went up a third time they were making them right in front of me. The milkshakes were all watered down. I understand they just reopened and I knew they would be busy that’s why I called in my order definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. I’ve been there a few times always been good with placing and receiving my order but this experience was nothing like I was expecting! If recommending to other place your order there in person or just wait until they are about to close for the season. It wasn’t worth my 27.50 for 5 watered downed milkshakes. Hey drove from Richmond, VA to get me some whole bellies clams! Anytime I'm in CT I always try to make a stop at DB. Been here for 85 years. Summer outdoor food stand with lots of picnic tables. Can't get whole bellies down south, least where I am, so always looking tonget some. They are lightly fried with a good batter, always tasty. Another northern thing I moss are clam cakes, so we grabbed a 1/2 dozen of those as well. Back in the day this was a normal hang out spot for some grub or some ice cream. Pretty cool that I've gotten my kids to look forward to DB stop anytime we are visiting. Got a pint of clams, clam cakes, a scoop of cookies n cream and a banana split. Staff is always friendly.
