Rent-A-Center — Local services in Putnam

this company requires weekly friday payments & refuses to work with other payment plans. at first, the men who delivered my couch & entertainment center seemed nice. but they were late & I could tell my items were used. they shoved my electric fireplace in the wrong way (thankfully my husband fixed it), & forgot the couch pillows, which they had to come back for later.

after making more payments, we were able to add a washer & dryer. they were scheduled for delivery between 12–3 but showed up at 10am. I was home alone with my 6-month-old daughter, & one of the delivery men told me to put her down for a nap to shovel my walkway, or they couldn’t deliver. I explained I have a bad back, was home alone, & offered for them to come back another time once the walkway was cleared. he asked if my husband could do it, but he works an hour away and wouldn’t be home until late. the delivery man finally said he would “come back on his last rounds to see if it’s shoveled.” the way he spoke to me was pushy & completely inappropriate.

my husband was so upset that he called & canceled the entire order that day, scheduling a day he knew he could be home with us. Rent-A-Center doesn’t just stop there… in this picture, this is the same delivery driver that was completely unprofessional & he’s one of the account managers that work here!! they will park down the street, sneak up to your door, knock obnoxiously even when you’re not home, & go as far as threaten you with their personal spiritual beliefs. I feel unsafe in my own home because of them, even with everything going to collections & nothing directly owed, I fear the harassment won’t stop.

I and my family have done business with this particular store for over 10 years. Recently they merged with another company and to be honest these people are nothing but bullies who think their 30 dollars a week is the end of the world..harassing phone calls..rude comments and unacceptable behavior when you go in to pay and aren't willing to work with you...it's a damn shame when the employee puts the supervisor on speaker phone and you "really" hear what he says and then realizes he is on speaker phone. I will never do business again here or any other Rent A Center. You..as a manager...I would fire...you wouldn't last working with me 5 minutes if you had my job...you all should line up for the unemployment line ... I am also contacting corporate headquarters about their rude, condescending comments..this place and the So called managers of this...

I was willing to pay triple price on a TV and everything but with the way they run their business it's better to just go without. I made a payment on a TV that the rca input doesn't even work, once I realized I switched it out and was told he would take a month off the payments, but never did. Fast forward a week (I was set on a biweekly schedule) and they're telling me I have to pay. So I do then they tell me I owe the 14 day payment 3 days later. I stupidly made the 14 day payment. I checked my account and was not only not given credit for the 7 day payment I just made. But they didn't give me any credits for the monthly payment I just placed on the last TV (which was within its return period...
