Amazing authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine with a mix of other asian foods. Its not the rotary sushi type of resturant but if your looking for a very home type of feel to a restaurant you come to the right place.

The couple here give awesome genuine customer service and the food tastes amazing. I originally grew up on Guam where there is a wide selection of genuinely good tasting asia. and seafood cuisine and this is the only place in Puyallup thats even come close to great tasting sushi, miso, and ramen that can compare to the pacific region.

Thier deals for lunch and dinnee are amazing and had us taking some to go to share with the family at home.

Just dont be like this one awful lady who didnt pay attentiin to what she ordered and berated the nice old man who hand made her sushi and started using the whole CUSTOMER ENTITLEMENT RANT because she didnt geel like paying anymore. If you didnt pay attention or accidently ordered something just apologize and ask for the correct order. They really put time and care into making this delicious food, and me and my wife volunteered to buy the sushi the chef made because we knew it...

**I -h a d- to edit this review because I don't think I did this place any amount of justice when I posted it the first time a few years back. The visit has stuck out vividly as one of my best restaurant experiences to date, so here's my update.

This is a small sushi restaurant in puyallup that serves some pretty amazing food for a cheap price. My twin and I came here on a whim after work because we were hungry, and weren't anywhere close to feeling disappointed. The atmosphere was homey, as if you were just relaxing in your own livingroom and ordered some doordash. The staff was really kind during our visit, considerate toward us when we had some questions to ask and even gave us some really good suggestions on what food they thought we would enjoy (dragon roll, yum yum roll, just perfect). It's tucked into a small area off the side of the road and blends in if youre not hungry... but if youre lookin, then you definitely wont miss it. All in all, if you need a great place to kick back, relax, and eat some good food, give ichiban sushi...

DON’T GO HERE, especially if you have any kind of allergies. Not worthy of the rating. Got yelled at because THEY failed to make my sushi correctly. I have a fish allergy and can’t have imitation crab, so I ordered shrimp tempura. When we got the rolls they clearly had imitation crab, which wasn’t listed with the shrimp tempura, so I politely informed them of my allergy. The sushi chef then proceeded to yell at me from across the restaurant and attempt to argue because he believed that imitation crab is not fish and also that the crab came with the shrimp tempura. When we showed him the menu, he still tried to argue. They then tried to charge us for everything, even the incorrect items. I would give them zero stars if I could. It was a negative experience from the very beginning with everyone there having very unpleasant attitudes. There were three tables that were unbused when we walked in and we were just pointed toward the dining area without any real greeting. Do yourself a favor and take your business somewhere the people...

Now I am spoiled. BY FAR the best sushi and bento anywhere. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The flavor was amazing. The potstickers were from heaven. The tempura veggies were exceptional. Not overdone. The sashimi was like BUTTER. You could "cut" it with chopsticks. The hot Sake was the absolute perfect temperature. We had 2 larges each! The 4 rolls we ordered were the best rolls I have ever had. I will not go ANYWHERE ELSE for sushi from now on in this area. The price was definitely better than many other places around here. I would highly recommend. Would give more stars if I could.

i went in a couple of minutes after they opened and was greeted right away and told i could sit anywhere i wanted. the lady brought water, a napkin, chopsticks and a menu as well as a sheet to order sushi. i decided to get the teriyaki chicken with gyoza. the salad was a little over dressed for my liking but the dressing had a good flavor. the ponzu sauce for the gyoza was good but a little salty for me. the teriyaki was the same, good but a little on the salty side for me. overall it was a good meal and i would go back but wouldn't go out of my way to get there.
