Weird experience here. They lost our order and had to come back out to retake it. Not even five minutes later our food was out. I thought it was odd to be able to cook two entrees that quickly, my boyfriend ordered three ground beef tacos and I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos. After he got through one taco I noticed the meat was pretty pink in some areas and pointed it out to him. It wasn’t too bad but definitely way too raw for a restaurant to be serving. He let the waiter know and they took it off our bill for us. We were actually discussing how we would come back and try something else because their menu looks very good, when the (I’m assuming) owner/manager came out and tried to pass off the raw meat as paprika. I was floored when she claimed that the pink was paprika as their meat is cooked to temperature and they use lots of paprika, she said. I almost argued back but I chose not to. My boyfriend and I love cooking at home and paprika is personally one of my favorite spices to cook with. I add it to meat, fried eggs, all the way to ramen. It’s a dark red. It is not bright pink and most certainly does not show up as pink on dark meat. It cooks in and you wouldn’t be able to see it. We were both offended this lady couldn’t just be honest and say “Hey, the food came out too early because the cooks were rushing since they lost your order.” We 100% would have considered revisiting but not anymore. We probably had a rare bad experience but being lied to is on another level. Maybe she didn’t think we knew what paprika looks like, lol. Definitely wouldn’t...
Read moreWe came in and got sat down, it took 15 minutes to even get asked what we wanted to drink, when we got our drinks the soda was flat entirely, this was the first sign, we got our chips and queso and got a sprite instead of coke, which was fine, my dad went to order something with chorizo,we were the told that it wasn't available, which i have never experienced before at any mexican resturant, that was the second sign, we got the cancun platter the fajitas Supreme and the super burrito mandero, while they were large portions they were mediocre, 5 minutes after getting them the burritos guacamole was already brown, after were finished we ordered a 16 Oz salsa and chips to go, the salsa was 10 dollars, we also got charged for brodo ground beef, which we didn't order, when we complained the manager said and i quote, sorry we're short handed." My mom mentioned matzatlan and said it was better and cheaper. The manager said,"My uncle owns it, and he uses canned and nothing fresh. We use fresh." This was the last sign. After we got home we both felt sick for a few days after and the Leftovers smelled and tasted off after sitting overnight, they're were 3 different waiters that couldn't even remember to refill my moms drink and were asked 4 separate times for salsa and never got it, it ruined my mom's birthday and sent her to bed crying with stomach pain, wouldn't send my worst enemy to this establishment. The bill was 114$. After taking the salsa away and chips away, it wasn't even worth 50$. I would rate 0 stars,...
Read moreAlways excellent service, but quality and accuracy lacking. I've been coming to this location for a number of years and at one time I would have said this was the best Mexican food there is in town. The portions were generous, the quality was top notch and the salsa was actually edible. Now the salsa is way too hot for all the guests we bring, when I ask for a cheese enchilada they always bring a chicken one instead and then act put out when I ask them to correct my order. I have resorted to purchasing less expensive entrees like the Taco Salad instead. Recently I got a scorched tortilla shell with limp lettuce, almost no tomatoes, way too much sour cream and just a few tablespoons of meat. Had I instead chose their lunch buffet I could have built a better salad myself than what I received. For some reason today's offering also came without their guacamole which was a blessing as it is much too spicy to be edible either. Years ago I loved their in house salsa so much I would usually order a tub to take home. Now sadly I almost cringe whenever my family wants to eat here. I think this place is now better suited to those who like to have a 3-4 margaritas before they order. Then at least your too inebriated to notice how bad the food is....
