I haven't been to the Bistro in a bit, so I thought I would give it another try. Big mistake!
The air conditioning was not on (not sure if it wasn't working or if they were saving money) and the door was propped open...around 1pm in August.
Every table that was available was dirty with dishes and food/crumbles.
Plenty of employees wandering around behind the counter, though. One in particular was on their phone more than they were working and actually got called out by another employee reminding them they were "on the clock".
I observed a group of 5 ladies come in and stood around a large table that was dirty, hoping someone would take notice and come clear the dishes. No one did, so they had to ask an employee. Finally a guy came by and slowly collected the dishes, but didn't wipe the table which had syrup and ketchup on it.
The ladies remained standing, thinking the employee would return to wipe the table, but that didn't happen. One lady in the group had to get water from the beverage dispenser and used napkins from the table to attempt to clean it before they could sit down.
While this lack of service was happening for the group of ladies, an employee did have time to catch a butterfly and with the help of a fellow employee, went outside to release it.
As a reminder, the door to the restaurant was still propped open and we have 2 employees busy with a butterfly while paying customers are cleaning their own table.
But don't worry, you will have multiple opportunities to tip for their stellar service and atmosphere by utilizing their tip jar on the counter or the prompt on the credit...
Read moreToday will be my first visit and I will review after I have been there, but I can tell you their website is poorly written I could not see the menu on their site, very frustrating, unless their plan is to force a visit, I would not have bothered going but I promised to take my wife.
When we arrived there were only two or three cars in the car park, NOT A GOOD SIGN.
I can happily say this is the worst breakfast I have ever had. first we got out own menu's then we seated ourselves (when we had finished cleaning our table)after placing our order at the counter we got our own coffee, which was tepid at best, got our own water and awaited our food, do note you have to pay for everything first and add a tip BEFORE you get anything simply put you are tipping them for doing nothing.
I had the Traditional breakfast , which for some reason had pineapple and melon on it ? the bacon was tasteless and the scrambled had been reheated in old oil, even covering it in ketchup didn't help, it wasn't until we left we realized why the fans were turned up so high, it appears it was to disguise the smell of oil that permeated the whole place as soon as we got in our car we could smell it on our cloths which had be saturated in the oil mist not only our clothes but my wife's purse had to be emptied and put outside to try and remove the smell.
Looking at the other reviews makes me think they were written by the owners.
Save your money you would be better off...
Read moreI was recommended to go to this "hole in the wall" place for brunch and boy am I thankful for the tip! I walked in by "The Bistro Garden" and saw a line forming at the opposite door by the cash register. I followed suit and waited for my turn to order. I advised the nice young lady at the register that it was my first time and she was happy to tell me the process; look at the menu (which is posted outside on the door and plenty to hold in line), order at the register, take your number to whatever seat you wish, and await your delicious food! I wanted to order the Bistro Benedict but the hollandaise was not available, so I asked what her favorite was and she offered me either the biscuits and gravy or the avocado toast (along with a special avocado toast available today), I ordered the biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs and cheese added along with a hot Americano with a splash of almond milk. Painted the register and made my way to the condiments bar to grab a complimentary cup of water and Cholula, so I was prepared to douse my biscuits and gravy when it arrived. I made my way outside and sat at a shaded table near the Bistro Garden and almost immediately my coffee arrived. I enjoyed watching hummingbirds drink from the fountain as I sipped my coffee. It didn't take long for my breakfast to show up and I was not disappointed by the portion and the flavor was perfect! All and all, a perfect...
