This Mexican restaurant has authentic Mexican food. The food is fresh and well made. I'd consider it a step up from Filiberto's for sure in food quality. I was there on a Saturday morning with a large youth group. There's probably seating for about 20+ people indoors and none that I saw outdoors. Our group took half the seating. It was fairly busy there and many people were coming in and out for take out orders. There was probably a 10 minute wait for our group and they brought our food out in two different batches. I ordered a carne asada burrito and most of the boys ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. The menu looked fairly basic. I typically order carne asada burritos and this one did not have as much steak as I am used to but it was good. They asked me if I wanted everything on it so Im guessing it can come with only steak and pico. I would compare the carne asada burrito to one at chipotle. It had rice and pinto beans, steak and pico de gallo salsa in it. They had red and green salsa on the tables and the green is mild. It was a nice salsa to add to the burrito. The boys all liked their chorizo breakfast burritos and we all had mexican sodas in the bottle. The building is very old and small, lighting inside is not very bright, the staff appeared limited and the it was mostly clean, tables were not wiped off during our visit as the staff was very busy but the service staff was very polite and patient with our...
Read moreThis place had great reviews so we decided to try it. It is definitely a hole in the wall place....but often that's where you find the best food. It is definitely popular because there were probably 20-30 people standing around in there waiting for their orders... And it is a tiny place. There are only four tables. A whole slew of construction workers were in there, so you know it's good. The food definitely was good and my dad's loved his menudo...very hearty, but my chicken taco and my mom's pork burrito hard hardly any meat on it...that was disappointing! The service was not great either. They were nice, but everyone in there got their food before us.... Even 10-15 people who ordered after us (and we ordered the same thing). It was difficult not to feel like we were not as important because we were the minority (the only Caucasian people in there). I felt like they were playing favoritism to their ethnic group unfortunately, and that wasn't nice. I finally got up and stood in line to ask if we were forgotten, but then they finally...
Read moreI am so very happy I decided to try this place. I am a harsh judge when it comes to mexican food. I don't find many places in AZ that meet my standards. Taqueria Mis Amigos tacos and burritos delicious. I make my own authentic Mexican food all the time, however its always nice to take a break and enjoy someone else's cooking. Their meat is lean, flavourful, & moist. Its not a sit down restaurant although they do have a few tables and chairs to sit and eat. They are family owned and when you arrive you just feel like part of the family. So if you get a chance stop on by and try some home cooked Mexican food. My favorite is the...
