I've read reviews of this place changing ownership recently and that service and food has degraded, but I've been coming here for years and wanted to check it out for myself. My wife and I visited twice within the last 30 days and found the following: First night: THE GOOD: The food was still good. We read reviews about the tasty, spicy egg rolls being smaller but they looked and tasted the same to us - so still good 👍🏼 The sushi tasted fresh and still good 👍🏼 THE BAD: The waitress was stressed, but trying to keep it together. The food took a long time to be delivered to our table. It felt like she was trying to handle a lot or wasn't trained right. Second night: THE GOOD: The food was good again! We ordered the spicy egg rolls and calamari and it was just as good as before 👍🏼 We ordered 3 Cali Crunch Rolls and 1 Spicy Yellow Tail. The sushi came out great 👍🏼 THE BAD: The wait and service needs dramatic improvement. We were told our wait to be seated was 30 mins, but it took 45 mins. We saw dropped napkins and food under our table that had not been picked up from the last guests. Then we were finally seated and told that if we ordered sushi it would take another 45 mins to get it because they were backed up!? Umm...of course we are going to order sushi at SUSHI CREEK! In a respectful and professional way I shared our disappointment in our experience. The sushi did get delivered to our table within 30 mins. The waiter was empathetic, but still missed our requests for plates and silverware. I don't feel this was his fault, but it was definitely something that fell on management/ownership. The staff is very young and inexperienced, which leads me to believe the new owners removed prior staff and hired new employees, causing inefficiencies in the kitchen and floor. It felt like kids took over a place that HAD professionals running a reputable brand. I look forward to visiting this establishment again within the next 30 days for an update.

I gave it 1 star because the waitstaff was very kind. The food is terrible. If you like grocery store sushi... I'd honestly recommend to stick with that. This place is a half step down from there for certain. I will not be returning. We got veggie tempura, cherry blossom roll, and unagi nigiri. The veggie tempura wasn't tempura batter. It was onion ring/fry batter. Their dipping sauce was far too salty, like a watered down soy sauce. The array of vegetables they choose to give was thoroughly disappointing. It was mostly bell pepper, a scant few onions, a zucchini, some carrot, sweet potato, and broccoli. Along with extra burnt crumblings from tempura past. The cherry blossom roll was 16.50. That is a hefty price for a sushi roll. The seaweed was chewy, the fish was poor quality and cut insanely thin. Nothing had any flavor. The eel on the inside wasn't seasoned nor sauced in any way I could tell. The salmon skin roll showed some promise because it was crunchy.... but that was it. No flavor. I couldn't taste the radish sprouts that were supposed to be on it and combined with cucumber, carrot, a bit of avocado and unseasoned salmon skin it tasted like nothing. The seaweed was also chewy. The unagi nigiri was, thankfully, warm but that was the best part about it. In order to make the eel slices bigger they give a tiny portion of rice. The sauce was generic and nothing special. The eel itself was fine. They also gave us a complimentary cowl of edamame which I would praise them for if it hadn't been cold.

Yesterday evening I decided to bring my 10 and 11 year old out to have some sushi, we arrived at 8 o’clock and the place was busy. Keep in mind it’s the summertime here in Arizona and it’s very hot. I walked up to someone who obviously works there I was told very rudely to wait for a hostess. I had no idea what the difference was between the two because they just wear T-shirts. We felt uncomfortable waiting there getting dirty looks so we decided to wait outside. The option was presented to us to have a meal outside and we obliged because we did not want to wait. We ordered eight different rolls and the deep fried avocado which was delicious. I would say the patrons that go are much friendlier than the workers. A lady that was there eating her self had told us which menu options to try so we ordered our food never once did the waitress bring a soy sauce even though I had asked twice they honestly treated my children and I like second-class citizens. The whole time we are pretty hot and uncomfortable. We finished our food and I was so over this whole experience then they bring me someone else’s check that was about $200. I can’t say I’m impressed. It’s overpriced food with some of the worst service ever. My kids are just 10 and 11 and they were bothered. There’s something to say for that. I definitely wouldn’t recommend but if you don’t mind how staff treats you then go and try the food out because at least the food is decent..

Not the same experience it once was.

Waited with several empty tables Long wait for food Sushi rolls kept getting forgotten

We started coming here 4 years ago and our first time eating here blew us away with the friendly staff, quick service, and excellent quality/quantity of sushi.

Unfortunately the last 3 or 4 times we've come have left us disappointed. Arrived at 5:30pm on a Monday evening with a party of 4. Less than half the tables/booths were being used. We had to wait 15 minutes and there were no other groups in front of us. Ordered our food after 5 minutes. 6 rolls and 2 entrees. Normally edamame is brought to the table, but after asking our waitress said they ran out. Entrees came out after about 15 minutes and it took another 15 minutes to get 3 of our rolls, but they never gave us dishes for our soy sauce. We followed up with our waitress about soy sauce trays and our remaining rolls, one in particular we mentioned we were excited to try, and she told us there would be "right out". Twenty minutes later 3 more rolls came out, but the roll we were excited about was not included, so we asked our waitress again and she said it would be right out. 15 minutes later she asked us how everything was and we told her we were still missing a roll, but that we had been here too long and we would just take it to-go. She rushed to the kitchen and brought out 6 pieces of the roll we were asking for. Much less than what use to be included with this $18 roll.

Overall, all the sushi rolls were smaller than previous visits, and the service was slow and forgetful. For the prices they charge you would expect something that doesn't resemble grocery store sushi. This was the least busy we had ever seen this place and it was our worst experience here. Sad to say we will have to drive further away to find another...

We went to Sushi Creek for my daughters 17th b-day, based on a recommendation. Understanding it was a popular location, we went early to get a seat without to much wait. We arrived at 5 PM, requested a “booth” for four (which was noted) and were told it would be about 30 minutes. At about 40 minutes, my daughter checked on the list and the Hostess told her It was ready. We proceeded in, and the Hostess gestured toward a table. I said, I’m sorry, we had requested a booth. She looked at the list and at me (with an attitude) and said, “that’s all we have for you.” Now, because it was my daughters night and we had already waited a long time, I disregarded the poor representation and sat at the table. Normally I would have offered immediate perspective. That said, if I were to score this visit on that portion of the experience, it would have been a 1, based on the miserable response/performance from Kylee, the Hostess on the front line. If I were to score it on the performance of our server, who was very good, or the food and atmosphere, which is outstanding, it would be 5. I suggest focused training on customer etiquette for this hostess. No excuse, no matter the tenure or age, for this poor performance. Major disservice to a wonderful business with great growth potential. We will absolutely go back. Great atmosphere and food. Just disappointed in the initial experience. Hope this feedback helps our local business and a young employee who lost focus on the priority of her position. One more suggestion...wipe down your menus. Our main menu was filthy with dirty hand prints and old food. Overall, it’s a great local business in our wonderful and...
