My wife and I spent several days in PR, and on a whim decided to get coffee and breakfast at Rico Pan #2 prior to our adventure for the day. ¡Dios mío! The coffee was so good and our ham-n-cheese and egg sandwich with the crusty roll... mmm!
We decided five minutes after driving away that we would definitely be going back for breakfast at Rico Pan #2 for the remaining days of our trip. Over the days, we enjoyed the smiley face drawing on my coffee cup, (to distinguish from my wife's café con crema), and sharing our daily Cuban sandwiches, and even a couple sweet pastries while we watched the crowds.
On our last day, the day after Ernesto blew through, we drove past old broken trees, palm branches everywhere, and some flooded section of roads. Yet Rico Pan #2 was open for business!! ¡Sigue siendo mi corazón palpitante!
Happy memories made with the staff. Some love began to form in my heart, and I would have gladly helped in the kitchen if I could speak Spanish. Ah, we are loyal customers now! even if we live far away.

Read moreAt the bottom of the hill from our resort, there's a bakery/restaurant Rico Pan/Piko Pollo where all the food was fresh & delicious. The uber there was literally $5 each way.
We had breakfast there every morning & dinner once. My husband had scrambled eggs, ham & toast with a side of fries. Their side of fries was the best, tasted light and fresh with a hint of sazon. I had the bacon, egg & cheddar cheese sandwich, it was great! The 1/2 lb of pork & yellow rice with pigeon peas was well seasoned and enough for two. I had the 1/4 chicken mofungo & tostones. Loved the hot sauce & tostones with the fresh grated garlic in oil for dipping, I added salt. The mofungo was very dry & not much flavor.
I tried their carrot triangle & the carrot cake roll with cream cheese. Get the triangle it was moist & solid like a loaf. Skip the roll, no cream cheese taste & it was...
Read moreI have supported this bakery for quite a long time now… it has a lot to improve and i mean a lot. Starting for putting at least some wax paper when they are packaging the hash browns cause nobody wants to eat foam. The employees are not the problem… the problem seems to be the administration and the lack of training that they offer to the staff. The place has been gentrified raising the prices of the whole menu. There’s basically a long line every morning which can be easily fix if they put two cash registers to move the line. The food is absolutely nothing special… is the exact same food that you can get at any puertorrican bakery. I don’t even know if the owner is going to address this issues since he’s making a fortune with tourists from the near by hotels and airbnbs. I will definitely delete this review if i see any...
