Asian Buffet — Restaurant in Racine

My husband and I have eaten at this buffet many times since moving back into the area, and most times were satisfied with the food; in fact, it's usually pretty tasty. Today when we went there with our 10 yr. old granddaughter, however, most of the food was cold, almost as if it had just been taken out of the refrigerator. We both usually enjoy the cheese stuffed mushrooms, the Egg Foo Young, and their white fish was always seasoned just right and quite delicious. Today the mushrooms were cool to the touch, the gravy for the Foo Young was clumpy and cool, and our favorite fish was cooked, but it's temperature at the time was cool to the touch as well. We talked with the manager on duty, and he said he would be willing to heat some more food up for us, but we stated that we were already getting filled up because we had starting eating the food on our plates. I suggested to the manager that perhaps he should check on the heating elements that heat the hot buffet items, because obviously they weren't working properly. Later my husband told me that all they do is put pans of hot water underneath the food trays on the buffet. Well!!! no wonder nothing was even warm. I'm sure the water is only lukewarm by the time the pans are put into the buffet, so, how is that supposed to keep the food hot? We paid about $33.00 for the three of us to eat there, but even after asking, the manager didn't even offer to give us a portion of our money back. Needless to say, we left and vowed never to go back. The manager continued to tell us as we were walking out, that he would have something heated up for us. Too late! Hot is how the food should have been before we even approached the buffet. Until some big changes are made there, I would not recommend eating at the Asian Buffet to anyone at this time. I went here for the first time tonight and it was a horrible experience. We got there around 845 and they close at 10 so I didn't really expect super hot fresh food but the stuff that was left was stale and barely edible. As soon as 915 rolled around the staff started hovering over us cleaning up constantly and making me personally feel really uncomfortable. When we went to go get 2nd plates around that time all of the food had been wrapped up! So we kinda just finished up what we had and started getting ready to go because it was beyond obvious that they wanted us to leave asap. On our way out my 20 month old daughter slipped on their freshly mopped floor and hit her head really hard. She was crying and we were trying to check her out to make sure she was ok. The manager stopped over and told us to give her ice cream. Then he put up a wet floor sign since there were none in sight. He didn't ask if she was ok or anything. So finally we got to the door and the entire staff is waiting there in their coats. The lights shut off and we are literally herded outside on front of them. It's 945 at this point and the restaurant advertises that they're open till 10. But they locked the door and all of them got into a cargo van and drove off. It was weird and honestly I regret ever stepping foot...

We decided to stop and try this buffet since we were in the area and seen the parking lot full. It turned out to be very good. We enjoyed it, everything we picked tasted good, the ladies there were very prompt on cleaning off the table from the plates as soon as they were empty. Drinks are included in the price, its a sunday so price is $15.99 a person so its decent. All is self-serve, including your drinks. The service was good, there is a good variety of items to choose from, the salad bar even looked good, lettece was fresh looking, lots of desert to choose from, they have a variety of ice cream choices as well, there is a bonus station that serves rolled ice cream in a cup and your choice of toppings, there's a fruit bar, variety of jello flavors, cakes, cookies, pudding, etc. Good selection of seafood like crap legs, shrimp, crawfish, calamari, etc. Pizza. Anyhow, all was good. No complains. Lots of parking available.

The bathrooms were the only thing that weren't the best, all were dirty except for one, no paper towels.
